Replaced my xbox 360 that I sold last February. Would write a longer description but to lazy right now (if I can edit this I may add more details tomorrow)
Edit: Okay, it's tomorrow, this description will possibly be confusing and out of order. You have been warned.
So last year I was forced to quit my job due to an injury. Insurance covered it all but not before I had to pay a few bills. Being flat broke with bills led me to selling my 360 and my game collection which sucked quite a bit (more so when I realized my tv would have got me a similar price and I had an old tube tv I could have used in the mean time)
Long story short I got a new job, didn't make enough to replace the 360, quit, got an old job, got crazy amounts of overtime. While working crazy amounts of overtime I planned out a computer. This computer plan was going to be a budget build for around $800, in that regard it failed a lot. Parts were bought over the last few months hence price differences on the 980's and I assembled it as I got the parts.
Before now the most I've done as far as pc gaming goes is when I tried to murder a netbook by forcing it to play the first of the F.E.A.R. games at a whopping ten, that's right, ten frames per second on its lowest settings. The only pc "build" I've done before was when I cannibalized three computers about a decade ago to build one working one, it ran windows 98 and had a 4gb hard drive (that 4gb was not a typo). So I had some reading to do.
Anyway, the 250GB drive boots Linux and the 500GB boots Windows. Before now the latest OS I'd messed around with was Windows 7 so I figured I'd give Windows 8 a shot. I've decided I hate it and it's a pain in the butt, that being said I'll see if I get used to it. Otherwise I'll learn to use Linux better....
Of course what does a guy like me do after building something like this? I think of upgrades, first of which will be one of LG's lovely curved ultra wide monitors or a ROG SWIFT. Later a few mechanical drives... Perhaps add a flamethrower to the front because reasons...
Well, ramblings are over. Gaming time. Feel free to comment, complain, or preform acrobatics in the comments section because this is the internet and people will do what they want and I really want to see an attempt at acrobatics in text form.
