The original name I had for this build was "Dark1" but that's a little less flashy than "Truth and Reconciliation". Plus, the lights inside + tempered glass remind me of the days I used to stay up as a kid and play Halo : CE on the original XBOX. <3 Good Times.

Anywho, onto the build!

So I sold my previous PC for $400 + Paycheck and Savings to buy this little beast, and it's beautiful. Probably the cleanest build I have done (even though it's my second, I'm proud ok).

I was actually pretty suprised with the Thermaltake fans they look great and are super quiet. I've yet to install windows yet, but could't resist uploading my first PCPP build. Love this site!

Parts with adjusted pricing were kept from previous build

UPDATE: More pictures! Excuse my potato quality, I haven't slept since the build :,) UPDATE 2: Reviews added!

Part Reviews

The packaging is beautiful & the performance is AMAZING. Even not OC'd! Coming from an OC'd i5-4690k @ 4.5Ghz for 4 years this things chews anything I throw at it, right up, and I am LOVING it. Do keep in mind though it can run a little warm (if you were to OC), so if it were up to me I'd have it delidded already but. I'm impatient, and don't need it right now so that can wait :p

CPU Cooler

I bought this because my AIO Cooler in m last build gave out after 4 years (dissapointment). But wow, what can I even say about this thing. IT'S AWESOME! Keeps my i7-8700k at upper 20's on idle in a room with little to no A/C. Absolutely beautiful beast. Looks even better with my purple lights shining on it. <3 Nocuta.

It's simple. It works. Plus it was one of the cheapest Z370 boards at my time of purchase so I'd say worth it. I like that it has lot's of good I/O without going overboard on it.

Sweet, sweet 3200 ram. XMP'd in one click.

This thing has lasted me forever, nothing much to say about it other than it works! and works damn good.

Video Card

Bought this before the crypto GPU drought. And wow was I lucky. Does everything I need in VR and 1080p, streaming etc.

I was not expecting this case to be as gorgeous as it was, but I can barely stop looking at it. Super easy to build in. RGB LED's are a big plus.

Case Fan

These fans actually perform really well and are silent? From ThermalTake too?? What kind of alternate universe is this?

All I gotta say it why buy Corsair's overly expensive fans when you can get your hands on these.

"How do we get inside the ship if its in the air? The corps issued me a rifle, not wings."

Best mission of every Halo game (besides the entire rookie sequence of ODST, controversial, sue me.). Nice build. Post some more pics!

absolutely beautiful :,)

I sure will once I find time out of 2 jobs and school! (also good quality :p) Thanks!

I still love to play Halo: CE, especially that level since you get more ammo in the sniper. Anyways, nice build! +1

Such a great level, I've even been listening to "On a Pale Horse" recently. Hits me right in the feels.

Thanks for the +1 friendo!

It's simple really, I see purple, I like.

Selling your old rig is a good way to slowly move up in the computer world, did that 2 times so far and will be fun to do next time I need to upgrade. +uno

I'll most likely be doing the same as well, it helped me meet a fellow PC member in my community (which lacks any kind of pc community, they took our only actual pc hardware store, tiger direct, a few months after i built my first rig 4 years ago) and it was awesome to know someone would be taking care of my old build.

Thanks for the +1!

I buy all my parts from Newegg as there is no "real" computer store down here in Central FL, (Micro Center for example) but looking around for used parts, you can sometimes find decent deals, got my 32Gigs of Corsair Vengeance LPX 3200 from Letgo, I was going to get a 16 gig stick and get another stick later because ram is way overpriced, but looked on Letgo randomly and saw it going for a very reasonable price.

Also picked up 2 970s for a friend and someone else, and I still talk to the guy who sold me the 970s, nice to have someone that actually can talk tech lol.

Just looked at the parts (I was at work earlier so I didn't look too close, I saw purple LEDS and instantly liked) let me know how your temps are on the CPU and GPU, I had a 980TI and only sold it cause my new case (carried the card over from last build) had worse airflow and got to the low 80C and was loud vs low 70s silent, and because the GPU shortage, sold it for profit (got it used a few years ago) and got lucky with a EVGA 1080TI Hybrid in stock on Newegg.

Idle temps are 30-35 C (this is in my room where the fan does not work so I have to use a small one at the moment)

Under load with something like PUBG all Ultra I get 60-65 C.

For GPU I don't have any numbers unfortunately.

Unfortunately this is all I've been able to test because it's been a hectic week and I work night shifts but once I have a few days off I'll be able to give more numbers :)

As for noise though, I for the life of me cannot hear this PC AT ALL, it's wild. I was so used to my old build running like a jet engine, I actually have to put my ear up against the case to hear anything even under load.

It's all good, I built my computer while I took a few days of work because my friend was in town, didn't have time to do all that I wanted with it other than post a quick picture and whatnot.

I was supposed to have it built around Christmas, but usps decided to wait another 4 days to give me my CPU. (Sent it in to be delided) Kinda lame when you everything but the CPU for a working computer.

Loudest thing in my computer is the hard drives, but I salvaged some laptop hard drives cause I had a bunch laying around, and the case fits 3 behind the mobo on the back. But you don't hear them except when they spin up normally.

vappr submitter 1 Build 2 points 13 months ago

So good news! Installed rest of the fans I had lying around (more thermaltake riings) and temps are now in upper 20's when idle so I'm pretty happy with that (for now :p). But for some reason only one fan isn't spinning? I'll have to contact thermaltake or something.

But yeah I really, really wanted to delid my cpu as well but for one I didn't wanna wait either even though it wouldve only been a day or too since I live in texas and silicon lottery was where I was gonna send it (they're located in Katy), but I don't want to take it apart now lol, maybe when I decide to overclock, I will send it it.

This build has given me a lot more confidence as to what I can do when it comes to building a computer so I don't think I'll be scared to go near the cpu this time around lol.

you have the same laptop I do. are you having a graphics issue where the screen is only displaying in the top left section of the screen after the high Sierra 10.13.3 update?

vappr submitter 1 Build 1 point 13 months ago

Nope, that sounds really weird though, I haven't had any kind of problems like that with my macbook :0

bladd12001 3 Builds 1 point 13 months ago

if you check the third to last photo in my "A Girls second time build you can see what I'm talking about. even the Geniuses at the Genius Bar are confused about what is wrong with my system and there have been no other reports of it by any other users. that is how my laptop looks at all times and it really is driving me nuts.

vappr submitter 1 Build 2 points 13 months ago

You should try going to system preferences -> displays -> make sure resolution is set to best for display

bladd12001 3 Builds 2 points 13 months ago

problem resolved. thank you.

vappr submitter 1 Build 1 point 13 months ago

awesome! and no problem :)

kevindsouza113 2 points 10 months ago

Hi. Nice build! I want to get the same cooler with the same case. I have concerns about the cpu cooler height. Is it touching the side panel of the case or there is a safe gap? thanks

vappr submitter 1 Build 1 point 6 months ago

nope! safe gap, totally recommend!

Hostyle 1 Build 2 points 10 months ago

+1 for the halo reference and awesome build would give you one more point XD.

vappr submitter 1 Build 1 point 6 months ago

haha, thanks a bunch dude!

tuninglegend 2 Builds 2 points 10 months ago

Does the cpu cooler touch the glass? I think i'm gonna buy it for my pc eventually, but i'm a bit worried about the noctua fan touching the glass...

vappr submitter 1 Build 1 point 6 months ago

nope! theres some clearance and looks beefy, so cool to me!
