Description

This build is purely for gaming and movies. I play competitive cs go on a daily basis, as well as other casual games such as GTA V. This build was put together over time and undergone a lot of changes, however I believe it is now near its final form. I am looking to purchase a 40inch 4k monitor in the near future for 4k Blu ray when it comes out. (I am planning to wall mount it above my existing benq, have it tilt downward so I can lie back on my dxracer and watch movies)

CPU: sold my old I5 3570k and upgraded to this when it was on sale, so didn't have to fork out too much extra money for it.

GPU: Brilliant piece of equipment that has given me amazing gaming experience for the past 2 years. I can run pretty much all games on ultra settings in 1440p whilst maintaining 50-60 fps.

Case: Very spacey, perfect for future upgrades and airflow. It's also very good looking, but I prefer keeping it under my desk to give myself more space

Monitor: Best monitor I have ever had to this point. 144hz + benq's blur reduction functionality = buttery smooth game play in cs go. (it has certainly helped my gameplay as I went quickly up to LEM from MG2 after using this monitor). Freesync technology perfects the gaming experience, it really is worth the extra money. For a TN panel, it's picture quality has exceeded my expectations, it is certainly equivalent to entry level LED panel which is amazing.

Corsair K65 RGB: Sold my old K70 on eBay for £75, bought k65 RGB for £80 on black friday, 5 quid for better lighting? Fk yeah!

If my computer was in arms reach to my kitchen I would be obese.

Lucky I only get to play in the evenings so I always make sure I have a massive dinner before going on my pc to stop myself from snacking xD

Whats the headphone stand?

  • 1 point

It's a wooden headphone stand bought from eBay http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/161604878142?_trksid=p2057872.m2749.l2649&ssPageName=STRK%3AMEBIDX%3AIT I taped a white led strip on the inside to create the glowing effect.

My OCD levels have hit negative ∞, meaning everything is perfectly organized (something you don't see a whole lot of)! That monitor really makes me question the ROG Swift's worth now... Looks like Asus has some tight competition!

Thanks! My OCD won't allow me to leave things messy :) my friend has a ROG swift and having played on each other's setup we can't really tell the difference. So I would say that if u had an AMD gpu then go for the benq! As its a LOT cheaper than asus.

I like the build and the room you have it in, nice job all around, not just the build, but the room set up

Thanks!!! I live in a one bedroom flat due to insane high rent in London, so my setup is in between my living room and kitchen xD

Seems like solid part choices, although the CPU seems like a bit overkill for just gaming. Where are the build pictures though? That's what I came here to see!

Thanks for the comment :) yeah I agree the cpu is overkill, I bought it as a treat for myself on getting a new job and didn't have to spend too much on it due to selling my old cpu :) so completely unnecessary but yolo right?

The lighting on this is great; I love it. But I must echo everyone else when I ask where the computer is.

Thanks for the comment :) I took the picture in a hurry last night and completely forgot about my pc! It's sitting under my desk, I will add more pics of it later :)

Very clean, very sleek build. Wish there were some pooter pics. What are you using for the accent lighting?

Thanks for the positive comment :) I'm using RGB led strips bought from eBay. There's one taped on to the back of my monitor, a white led strip taped on the underside of my monitor, a long RGB strip taped onto the edge of my desk and a tiny white led strip taped on the inside of my headphone stand :)

Sorry for offending you but I didn't notice the price on pcpartpicker when I ticked it. It was originally bought for £225 when it went on sale on overclockers.uk

Thanks for the positive comment! The K65 is absolutely brilliant! Definitely the best keyboard I've had, Very nice, compact and responsive. The RGB lighting is very nice to look at and complements my setup well :)
