Description

Hi! This was my first build, enjoy!

All my friends were building PCs, so I said, why not? I was going for a black and white themed computer, but as I was gathering my parts, I decided to add in HUE+ and the NZXT Aer fans to make it pretty much any color I wanted (depending on my mood). I highly recommend the HUE+ as it is fully customizable with tons of effects to choose from.

Mostly gonna use this PC for photo editing and occasional gaming. However, I plan to buy a VR headset in the future!

Cables were Phanteks cables.

I got Windows cheap from family that works at Microsoft for those who were wondering (not those other sketchy websites).

I used a Nikon d750 + 50mm f/1.4 to shoot these photos.

Awesome build! I've got one very similar shipping my way now. One question I had that I can't figure out is will I need the internal usb hub for 2 aer RGB fans w/ hue+ and the kraken x62 using an asus Z270e motherboard. It doesn't look like you needed one?

  • 3 points

Hi! I actually used the extra internal USB hub I bought from NZXT. I only had 2 USB ports on my mobo, but my build required 3. Sorry about the confusion, I'll update the list with that part.

  • 1 point

what were the three? sorry for the probably dumb questions I'm just a total noob at building pcs

  • 2 points

Haha it's okay, this was my first build too! The three I used was the HUE+, one was for the X52, and one was for the USB port connections at the top of the case.

  • 1 point

Where did you hide the extra internal usb hub?

  • 1 point

I'm sorry I haven't been checking the updates in a while. If you haven't figured out yet, I hid it in the back next to the power supply.

thanks

Hey, one of my family members work at Intel and has a limited amount they can buy at a discounted price.

How many fans do you have in total?

1 top 1 rear 2 with the cooler?

How are your temperatures so far?

Also - Awesome build and great photos!

  • 2 points

Hey! I have one fan in the rear, one on the top, and two in the front of the radiator. And temperatures are okay, I only have played CSGO on it, with some streaming to get around 290 fps, with temperatures not exceeding 65C. I still have yet to do benchmark testing on it.

And thank you so much!

Looks awesome! I just got the same case yesterday and I was looking for lighting inspiration. Where did you put your LEDs in the case? Also, where did you get your white cables?

  • 2 points

Hey!

I put the LED's only where the white shows up in the case (nowhere on the black backplate) Also, I got the white cables from Amazon (Phanteks brand) https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B01G7VOYYS/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o07_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1

Thats the link for them

Really nice. I also went for the same theme but i'm deciding between buying just the fans or the Hue+.

Are those custom cables? And if so what are they called? Awesome build btw

If anything your build is probably the most pleasing to the eye i've seen for the S340 E W case - great attention to detail. I've been looking at various B/W final builds for this case to point me in the right direction for my 'first build'!

Noticing a few similar builds using the chunk white cased asus gpu - i was very close to picking up one of these. After seeing yours, the white led logo and the black backplate EVGA gpu won me over immediately. Looks slick!

I have to ask - which white cables are you using and do those transparent clips come with them? If I were to use 4 ram sticks, would the liquid cooler (kraken X52/X62) tubing come in the way?

  • 1 point

Hi thank you so much! The transparent clips come with the Phanteks Cables I linked above. As for the 4 ram sticks question, I actually have no idea. I haven't tried it out, but I've seen other people have similar builds with 4 ram sticks. As for my motherboard, I wouldn't know. Sorry about that!

Sorry one last thing - is there any chance of you attaching a pic without the nzxt led lights on?

  • 1 point

Hey! Of course I can! It wont be lit up that much though. But this will take a while. I'll be away

  • 1 point

Where did you get the NZXT s340 elite case? In the first picture the inside looks like the white variant, but the outside is black. But then in the last picture the outside is white...?

  • 1 point

Hey! This is just the NZXT s340 elite White Case. The entire casing is white, but the border of the tempered glass is black. One of the last pictures do not have the glass on, therefore, has a white border. Sorry for the confusion!

hey,

I just bought most of the same stuff as you - how were you able to change the color of the vengeance LED? In the "CAM" software I can only change brightness and static/flashing. theyre stuck on red.

thanks!

  • 1 point

Hey, unfortunately, the vengeance LEDs are one color only. I bought the white LED ones.

What cables did you order from "Phanteks cables"? Can you send me the list of cables?

  • 1 point

Hey dude if i only have 2 usb 2.0 headers and want to plug hue+ with led strips + 2 AER RGB fans + kraken x62 will it be enough?

maybe if i didnt plug in the case 2.0 headers i could be fine?

  • 1 point

I'm sorry I haven't been on this in a while. I hope you figured it out, but you would need an internal USB hub I believe.

  • 1 point

Can you show a picture on where you put your strip LEDs I know you made mention of only on the white (does that just mean top of case and next to shroud?) but did you mount them all the way around...beautiful build BTW!

he got it threw g2a or kinguin, however I do not recommend getting keys at those sites as they are most definitely purchased with stolen credit cards and resold to make money.
