Description

My first PC build. It'll be used for Video Editing and Post Production Colorist Work. Currently can't get it to power on beyond a red light and some quick fan spinning before it appears to just be dead in the water. Any suggestions?

WAIT. you have a power cable plugged into a fan header above your 24pin power cord. disconnect that. it should not be plugged into that, only fans should be plugged into fan headers.

Hey, are you able to email me which cables you were talking about? I ended up disassembling the whole thing and I'm replacing the motherboard. heavy sigh

In your first and second photo, you have your 24 pin power cable, and above it, you have the small power for floppy drives or addin cards plugged into your fan header. I had to look at the third photo to confirm it was a power cord coming off the power supply and with your 4 pin molex connectors.

Ryzen usually takes a while for a first POST... How long did you let it sit after you turned it on?

Be sure to check all your connections, make sure everything is connected properly to the PSU and Motherboard

Make sure the RAM and CPU are seated in their sockets properly

You may also want to clear your CMOS.. (refer to your motherboard manual for instructions)

definitely reseat the components and double check all of the power runs to ensure they are pushed in all the way.

As clivre said, you put a power cable onto a fan header
