Build

R7 2700X WORKSTATION/GAMING RIG

by lordejj101

Description

This is my first ever completed rig for my workstation(70%) / gaming(30%). As far as i want the full complete Aorus rig build, i'll just stick to this one for the mean time. :)

Part Reviews

CPU

The Ryzen 7 2700X is just the right proc for me at this time for it balances my needs to do mulitple workloads in a smooth setting with no lags at all. Just what i need for my arch viz works/stuffs to make. Price/Performace wise is of great value.

CPU Cooler

It works as it should be but i feel like the lighting is a bit dim on the 2-120mm Fan. All-in it's a great cooler considering its price. Running over almost 2 months now and works great.

Motherboard

The Budget MB of all the Aorus X470 line-up. The Design is A+ considering the limited RGB output.

Memory

Working great! Although sometimes its off-sync even using the RGB Fusion App of Gigabyte.

Storage

Best Price/Performance 256GB SSD that i have bought. So smooth.

Storage

It's HDD, but i'm aiming for the black/gold version in the next upgrade.

Storage

Have to partition it into two parts. No problems so far!

Video Card

For now, because i get it on a super budget deal.Aiming for Aorus RGB next upgrade.

Case

4/5 because the top mounting of the radiator fans of my ID-Cooling Auraflow 240 RGB cant fit, so i need to relocate it on the front end of the case, making the rgb radtiaor fans hidden in sight. I love the detachable dust filters though! (top, front, and psu) and the psu shroud too. But overall it's a great case!!!

Power Supply

Working great! Paired it with APC - BX650LI-MS 650VA Backup Power!

Monitor

1MS! Well Although the color output is not what i'd love to see. But its doable anyways. Great for Games!!!

Have you considered over clocking your CPU, it would boost the performance!

As of now, i don't have the need to, maybe next month, when i start to work on a large scale project. Will try to do safe overclocking.

Lovely build interesting case and CPU cooler for sure. Were you able to get all the lightin synced with Gigabyte's control?

lordejj101 submitter 1 Build 1 point 5 months ago

yep, they all sync, except for the ram sometimes, because there are times that it's way-off sync -a little bit delay, i don't know if its with g.skill's although it seldom happens only.
