Updated GPU Temps and Power Consumption
Problems? Problems? oh yeah there were some problems.
Amazing itx motherboard couldn't have asked for a better part. The RGB and color scheme is top notch. Also the dual m.2 for raid is like none other. If you are doing an itx build there really is not another option for the intel series. Asus really outdid themselves with this one. Only downside is no 2.0 usb but didn't matter for my build.
Samsung evo 960 m.2
not much to say about this. Samsung is the "gold standard" when it comes to ssd for speed an reliability.
well if you making a gaming pc there is no other choice. Some games can be bottlenecked by your cpu at 1080p and i wanted to avoid that issue for as long as i can. Also the TDP was within my limit and perfect for my needs. There really was no other choice. I will be delidding this shortly since my itx is as small as it can be. These cpus tend to run rather hot.
Zotac GTX 1080 mini
i thought to myself what is the biggest gpu i can smash into this case. This was the first choice. It is currently the most powerful gpu at its size. And it barely fit. The heatsink lies against the front case. I am hoping since it is contact metal to metal i will have some cooling dissipation from the heatsink to the case.
NFC S4 Mini (4.3L)
This case is amazing!!! It can hold two ssd drives, couple that with the two m.2 drives and i will never run out of room. Can fit a gtx 1080 mini and has two fan mounts for slim scythe 120mm fans. It is made out of full aluminum. Really is speechless. Little pain was soldering the vandal switch for it but totally worth it since it gives it a premium feel and look. This case since it is so small it requires a dc psu which i choose the hd plex 300w. Even though the psu says it is 300w it can go up to 400w. Weird thing i noticed for dc psus. I have an external brick which does add some bulk but not bad at all. You can't beat throwing your full pc in a back pack and leaving. Just amazing.
Now since i had to remove part of the cooling system for the gtx 1080 mini to get it to fit i made a fan mount. The fan mount is very snug and fits where the 120mm fan would go. It had two 80mm x10mm fans which i hope is enough to cool the GPU. Gotta do some testing but i am pretty sure it will be fine under normal use. Lastly the cabling was such a pain. Teleois sleeving is not very flexible i should have went with paracord or something else. After hours or working the cables, moving them up and down, and side to side. I finally got the cables to work. With everything in the case it is solid no wiggles or noises.
54w under idle, 266w under full gpu load
I hope everyone enjoyed the build
The fastest gaming cpu out on the market currently. Has a great TDP and was optimal for my type of build. Not to mention the intel motherboard and the offerings they give are top notch.
All i have to say 2 m.2 in a small form itx motherboard is game changing. Amazing, the color scheme is on point with this board. I have very happy asus went with neutral colors. Overclocking is there and wifi. Really you get so much with this board it is stunning how they do this now and days. Plus the rgb is classy and not overdone at all.
what can i say about this ram. Currently some of the shortest sticks on the market really. Great for tight spaces. May not have all the flash the rgb has but reliability is there from a trusted brand.
"Gold standard" when is comes to drives. Really nothing touches samsung but maybe intel drives which are fantastic as well. Again reliability, great brand name, performance is top notch. Not sure what else to say.
King of the small form factor builds. Nothing touches the performance for its size. It even has a overclock and manages to stay cooler than most cards. Stunning is the word of choice for this beautiful gpu. The design is fantastic which has a look of a stealth plane.
