Description

I built this as a multipurpose rig that will hopefully last me a very long time (with upgrades along the way). I have this set up in my living room, where I will do some gaming (mostly Goat Simulator) but also watch Blu-Rays, stream movies, etc...Eventually I want to use this for some Pro Tools recording, but that won't be for a while.

I know, 1000w is absolutely overkill. It was the first piece of this that I bought, because there was a deal on it. This was back before the new Maxwell graphics cards were announced, so I was thinking about eventually having two 780ti's, which makes a lot more sense for 1000w. Then the 970s were announced so I went with that (saving up for a 2nd one now).

I think all the other part choices are pretty self explanatory. I went with the case because I just really like the idea of having 4 200mm fans, haha. Also, made a slight modification to improve airflow by taking out the HDD cage (no need for it with the SSD mounted behind the Mobo, and the two X-Docks will be enough for my needs).

Planned Upgrades: 2nd graphics card for SLI, larger/additional HDD for storage, better/more RAM.

Yes. (I'm being somewhat facetious. I will also enjoy playing other games. Such as Minesweeper).

You should have gone with four 980s then! At least then you could get 1fps!!

Nice build but why are you looking for more ram. Isn't 16 sufficient

Yeah it is. I would probably get some better/faster ram first, but eventually if I'm going to be recording music and running pro tools, I figure I might want more - but I don't really know if I'll need it. That will most likely be the last thing I upgrade/add.

Thanks! Not thinking about overclocking as of right now, but will definitely look into it in the future if/when the need arises.
