Description

My previous build (The ZX11) had been very good to me and has lasted me the past 5.5 years--only changes I made were to replace my two 580s with a 780ti Classified and switch from the two 120GB SSDs in RAID to a 1TB Samsung 840 EVO as my boot drive. I also added a third monitor a few years ago when the Korean 1440p IPS monitors hit Ebay (I snagged an Achieva Shimian QH270-LITE for $300).

However, about a month ago my oldest monitor blew it's power supply after over 10 years of usage. I replaced it with a new 4K Dell which is a great monitor, but it has started to show the weakness of the 780ti in 4K. I can play what I've tried at 4K, but I do notice some slowdowns (like when fighting 10+ enemies in Shadow Warrior 2). This got me looking into just replacing the GPU, but after researching the new parts that are out now, I got bit by the bug. I really wanted an m.2 SSD. I wanted USB 3.1. And also, I wanted to slim down.

The Case Labs TH10 was great to build in and offered me tons of space for my rads, but since I removed my SLI setup (and don't plan on doing SLI again--too many hassles with game support and the like) I no longer needed so much rad space. Also, the case is huge and not easy to move.

So, upgrade time!

The new build so far destroys everything I throw at it. Currently stable at 4.8GHz at 1.3V (can run 5GHz but needs 1.4V) on the CPU and hit +150/+500 on the GPU easy (just haven't tested higher). DOOM completely maxed at 4K/60fps at Vulkan Nightmare settings. GTAV maxed (except AA) at 4K/60. And the build is barely a whisper when running (fans go only from 20% to 40%) with the only lights inside being the two character display on the mobo being lit.

It met (and exceeded) my expectations. Now I have to consider whether to possibly get a Vive...

By far one of the cleanest tubing I've ever seen in a build. I had to truly look to see it. Nice work, super clean Have my +1

Should separate your CPU from your GPU for better performance with your temperatures Of course if you overclocked you will see the difference nice parts List

It looks like a goth was told to build a PC.

And those specs tho, wow. You don't really see too many Titan XP builds around.

Great build!

Great build my dude, I'm in the middle of my 7700K build right now. But I'm just gonna say now, you're build is just amazing. Clean case, clean tubing, and impeccable cable management. +1 great job

60hz monitor? Why even get a Titan X?

4K needs it to stay at (near) constant 60fps.
