Description

I love the look of this CPU AIO cooler and the vertical graphics card mount option of the case. It works alright, need to delid the cpu though. Summer in florida is rough for ambients....

Overclocked stable @ 5ghz, 1.315v, Temps ~73 degrees.

Update: 10/11/18 Bought a used K|NGP|N EVGA 1080ti as i could not justify spending what people are asking for 2080ti's right now, althought i REALLY wanted to get the 2080ti gaming x trio from MSI, that card is beautiful. This 1080ti KINGPIN should hold me over until i can pick up a better monitor and graphics card prices and availability come back to normal.

Part Reviews

CPU

Plows through PUBG and RL at stock settings. That is good enough for me for a limited edition processor. I will say, when it is not delidded the temps get pretty hot. Under true 100% CPU load, under a 360 degree radiator, the temps still skyrocket the 80s and 90s, but this is with 1.424 volts. After bios update, and manual overclocking, we can achieve 5ghz with 1.28v LLC-6. Temps in low 70s.

I love intel.

CPU Cooler

Works well and the RGB looks good, along with the 2 included strips. I would say the pre-applied thermal paste is a con though.

Motherboard

Good, clean motherboard, with plenty of options for the newbie to overclocking/pc building. Has RGB sync, and M.2 slots, and a majority of what else you would be looking for.

Memory

Works at stated speed right out of the box with 0 issues. DRAM prices really need to come down, that is my only thought.

Storage

Its an SSD, with plenty of storage, and its samsung so it has not crashed yet. No more to say. Good stuff.

Storage

750gbs, 7200rpm, currently unused, but works as intended when needed.

Video Card

Guaranteed 2025mhz+ OC under typical OC conditions. This card is huge, and gorgeous. Runs all games on my 1440p 144hz monitor at 120+fps, with pubg running at like average 135-140fps on ultra settings, this is about 25-30% better than my 1080 was. I will keep that 1080 and put it in a build for my girlfriend.

Case

HUGE case, and i LOVE the 4 sided tempered glass panels. I think the airflow is a little restrictive, but i havent used it long enough to know. Plenty of space to do whatever you want in it.

Power Supply

Powers everything and has stayed clean for 4 years. Hassle free. Recommended.

Case Fan

Good fan, but i dont think it moves enough air for my liking. Will probably change out on the future.

Monitor

Great monitor, but i dont like that it is advertised as RED, because the monitor basically looks orange. Wish G-Synce monitors were cheaper.

Keyboard

Loud and clicky, white for the theme, and RGB. Anything else?

Mouse

Great mouse, but for some reason my trackpads on the bottom catch on my metal mercury edition mouse pad also from Razer. I feel like they will wear down eventually and go away but for now its annoying.

NIce build. I would try to see about maybe changing the AIO fan profiles or putting some better thermal paste in because 90C with a 360mm AIO is not normal at all, even with Intel.

I have a 8700K OC at 5 ghz, which the 8086K is just a higher binned chip, and I only have a 280mm AIO and my temps never hit over 78C, they usually range between hover in the low to mid 70s while stressed with XTU.

Deepcool AIO liquid coolers do not provide great cooling performance when paired with a high performance CPU like an 8700k for example IMO. I paired a Corsair H100i v2 240mm and a Deepcool Captain 240ex with an 8700k and the latter was 10-15 C warmer. In fact a Noctua NH-U14S heatsink performs better.

Oh you are talking about in the cpu review. Yes, under true 100% CPU load in AIDA64 i have seen some cores hit 90 and then drop back down. Also keep in mind this is at like 1.45 cpu core voltage, which is crazy high. My voltage is not set manually right now.

Yup. I'm also a Floridian. My room regularly gets up to 80 F in summer. One word: delid. I'm sure you've heard it a million times. I wasn't going to do it but I did. Works like a charm.

I just delidded my old 4790k and i want to make sure i get results running that before i do my 8086k. What did you use for under the IHS, and did you put nail polish over the circuit close to the die?

Simulint 4 Builds 1 point 7 months ago

Thermal Grizzly Conductonaut under the IHS. Replaced the stock IHS with a copper IHS from Rockit. Clear nail polish, yes. Loctite Super Glue Ultra Gel Control instead of silicone gasket to seal the IHS and let cure inside the delid kit for at least 2 hours. YT vids of this process.

why is this your dream computer? and what values and proofs does it bring to you?

ChosenWon submitter 2 Builds 1 point 7 months ago

This isn't far off of my dream computer, its getting there. I game every day, and this has brought me more enjoyment in the games that i play, as well as the enjoyment of building and overclocking/tuning a pc. That is an enjoyment alone. As for values im not sure what you mean.

Dope build, I'm thinking about getting that same case for my next build.

I love the case. It is a little pricey but i love the full tower tempered glass look. It is very heavy too. :)
