Hey guys, this is my first completed build on PcPartPicker, this build has been quite the experience for me and it's been a dream of mine for a long time and i really love this PC. This build isn't "complete", there are things i want in this PC like an SSD and a new keyboard, but it's good enough for now. i recently upgraded to Ryzen from a Core i7-2600k that i overclocked to 4.8ghz, but that wasn't a very good PC, it constantly had BSOD's from a dead ram slot on the motherboard (msi p67a-g43(b3)) and then i got a new (used) board for it, an ASRock extreme 4 that had a dead usb 3.0 port so i returned it and planned this build. The hard drives, the case, the fans and everything else besides the cpu, board and ram are from the 2600k build.
but i started planning this build waaaaaaaaaaaaaaay back in 2014, I was in 10th grade at the time and i have been working all summer long. the original plan was a i7 4790k and a 980, then time went on and it became a 4790k with a 980ti, then a skylake i7, then a kaby lake i7, until i heard about ryzen and i was absolutely thrilled for it's release, i knew AMD wouldn't disappoint since they're trying to "shake things up", so now this brings me here, as a college student. But this PC is a real conversation starter. I leave the door to my room open as I'm playing pc, and sometimes people come in and the looks on people's faces when they see this pc is hilarious. They're in awe of this PC. Feels good man.
I don't plan on overclocking yet, i will when i see a reason to.
Also, enjoy the free cat picture, Her name is Dewey, and I've had her since i was in 5th grade.
Awesome CPU, definitely better value than intel's offerings. Great for streaming which i do from time to time.
Great MoBo. Would recommend. Updated to the latest bios and got my g.skill trident z 3200mhz to run at 2933. Haven't tried higher.
Great ryzen compatible ram, atleast for my motherboard.
Its a hard drive.
Reliable drive. Mine is a couple years old and its been in and out of many systems and ive had no problems.
Runs a my games on ultra settings at 1080p with 60+ fps. Great gpu.
Great case, but lacks hard drive bays. There's only 2 full size hard drive bays, so that may be a problem for some, like me.
Beautiful monitor. Has HDR and ips with freesync, although i i have an Nvidia gpu.
Good keyboard with good features, but my f11 and = keys stick sometimes, not sure if this is a widespread issue or just me
love this mouse. RGB is amazing. feels very solid
Decent headset, does the job for me.
Great sound quality and excellent bass for what it is.
