Description

My 1st build.

I wanted to have a black / white / green color way and reuse the i5 4670k from my old system, so obvious choices were MSI Z97s Krait and the MSI GTX 970 100ME. I liked to stick to Corsair so RAM and PSU were easy picks too.

Since the Corsair 100R provides little airflow i choose two 140mm Noctua Redux as front intakes, planning on redirecting the air straight to the GPU to keep it as cool as possible. Nanoxia FX Evo are great fans and fit the color scheme so i went for those to do so, which included attaching one onto the harddrive tray via zip-tie-ghetto-mod. The PSU's fan isn't the best quality, so i put a Nanoxia FX Evo 120mm 1000 RPM IFC in there.

I painted the CPU coolers color ring, spent a fair share of time on the cable management and the result does match my vision for the build, is dead silent in idle and pretty cool under load with the CPU overclocked @ 4.3 GHz.
I'm very happy with the Coconut Lime.

Where are the cables? What kind of computer is this?!

Neatest PC I've ever seen. I also love the consistency with the colour scheme. If I had a medal to give, you'd probably receive it.

How are you liking the fans you have?

A lot! FX Evos could still be more silent, but since they are PWM controlled and i always got wether speakers or headphones playing when under load, it's all good! ^

How dod you paint the cooler rings?

I got myself some cans from a graffiti store. White for priming and green for final color.

Brilliant cable management and parts selection :) I will be very happy if you take a picture from the other side of the case please. Because I have same case and amazing looking but really hard to close it once all the cables put together :)

True! That's why i hope you'll understand that i don't want to open the case again unless it's necessary! ;)

Yeah, the 100R provides very little room for cable mgmt, but where's a will there's a way, i guess… ; )

which makes the HDD cage non-removalable right? I've been looking high and low for the answer to this.

Answers:

  • You propably can route fan- and front-panel-cables behind your MoBo.
  • No, it's not, if you don't squeeze them in too hard.
  • Use zip ties to fix them behind the back.
