Description

My old 3770k PC was getting a little long in tooth and I wanted to mess around with RGB stuff. Chose Corsair environment because I loved the case although I didn't realize how huge it was until it came. Only a few inches shorter than my desk. Wiring it all was a bit of a pain but otherwise a pretty straight forward build. I will say self threading fans SUCK and try to avoid them if possible.

Would love to see some bigger and more clear pics. Not too often you see that case being used.

So much money in this build leaves no money for better camera/phone...

Not sure why you are being down voted as you said it in jest no doubt, but up voted for what its worth!

LOL completely true. I have a death grip on my iphone 6 sadly. Not a fan of the deleted home button and all I normally use it for is texts/calls so the OLED price increase is tough to justify. I'm waiting for 5G support

Switch to Android! I've used both, the Android OS seems scary, but after about a day it's waaaay easier to use that iOS. Only once you need to upgrade though, stick to the 6s for now, not a bad phone.

Had to! I will say the PCI-E ones are no fun to install and don't look nearly as good as the ATX

Wow RGB cables that is cool. Makes me wonder though if the point of RGB is to make everything light up? More pics....

Can I take part in this, so called, "RGB Hell"? Cause it looks beautiful.

what do you mean by threading fans?

  • 1 point

Self threading fans are fans where the you have to do the threading by force. You are essentially drilling the screw into the plastic by hand. I had no idea this was a thing before doing it despite reading reviews on the fans. It was never mentioned. It took me about 3 hours to get the screws in the fan. I almost sprained my wrist doing it.

  • 1 point

oh yeah i knew that haha i had a brainfart there for a second, i wasnt thinking anything to do with installation, the funny thing is i use hd120 fans and i hated the fact you had to thread them yourself, it literally didnt click for me what you meant.

RGB Hell? I could argue this is more like heaven. Smashing build nonetheless!

The LL corsair fan cable management is hell, trust me, those fans are beautiful but for each fan is two cables, for 6 fans is a box, for one box there is another box. I can only speak from experience using 4 of those fans at once. Those LL series leave any previous aspirations about clean cable management in the grave. Otherwise yep, the fans are stunning. :)

I feel like the only reason corsair designed this case was to fit more rgb fans in it lol

Fascinating build but do you have any photos which aren’t strictly close-ups?

  • 1 point

It’s a large case without a custom loop

It’ll look empty

  • 1 point

Yeah it's really designed for a custom loop but those are pretty expensive and just add more maintenance. I'm not much of an OC'er so it seemed pointless. Especially when you are already almost 5g in on the other stuff

  • 1 point

If you're 5 grand in why stop there? No self respecting man should spend less on a computer than their car lol

I'll get more pictures soon. My iPhone camera was really letting me down and I need to clean up the wiring a bit better. I was waiting so long on the 9900k that I had to throw it together just to make sure everything worked before my return window closed on some of the other components. I'll get some pictures of it with the lights on too!

What games are you playing to need this pc? Also love the RGB, litterally a third of the price is the RGB fans.

I do professional A/V work but I'm also playing the new Battlefield. Haven't had enough time to get anything else installed yet!

does anyone know if the 1000D fits a 360mm rad on top?

  • 1 point

the top is 3x140mm but they do make another tray you can swap out that would fit a 360mm. You'd have to buy it separately

  • 1 point

Wait, wait, wait.... So you bought a $600+ case and you didn't even know its dimensions before receiving it?

We're cut from different cloths, lol!

It looks great but I'll second others in the comments - additional pics would be awesome.

I had watched a few videos on it and it NEVER looked so big in any of them! I had plenty of space though, thanks for the comment. I'll take some more pictures when I get the wiring cleaned up!

I almost went with this case with my most recent build but decided it was just too much case, so I settled for the cooler Master C700M cause I like the RGB and the vertical slanted GPU mount.

Is the msi duke 2080 ti better than the msi x tiro 2080 ti with benchmarks?

  • 1 point

this thing is the colossus conqueror of a console genocide... only thing that stood out is why the 4x8 gb RAM? with all that power why not supplement it with say 64 gb of RAM? if the motherboard couldn't handle that id be shocked... price is probably high, and i understand that, but it seems like the RAM should have more oomph compared to the rest of dazzling game wreaking machine...

  • 1 point

doesn't really matter tbh, I mean 16gb is the sweet spot and 32gb isn't needed unless someone is doing heavy editing or work related stuff.
