Description

Just an updated version of my computer. Moved to Skylake and will be buying Pascal/Polaris when they come out. I used Gold Rustolium paint to make the 2.5 and 3.5 SSD/HDD holders, expansion slot covers, and rings on the fans.

With the cooler my temps idle around 20 and at full load 44 degrees. Using CPU-Z to put it at full load. All the parts from my old build that I'm using in this and all the new stuff hasn't let me down yet. (Except the speakers, they're already dying.

CPU

Intel Core i7-6700K 4 GHz Quad-Core Processor

Intel did it again. Perfect. It's everything I wanted and runs perfectly.

CPU Cooler

Noctua NH-U12S 55 CFM CPU Cooler

Amazing cooling and quality. Idle temp is 20 and full load is 44 on my 6700K. This doesn't sit over my ram so no clearance issues. I suggest this to anyone who wants a simple looking and performing air cooler.

Motherboard

Gigabyte GA-Z170X-UD3 ATX LGA1151 Motherboard

This is definitely Ultra Durable. It's handled everything very well. It's got USB Type-C, M.2 slots, Crossfire AND SLI capability. Love the black and gold. It's bios is very easy to work with which makes overclocking a breeze. It also has a light going from the front audio connector to the back headphone jack. It can stay on, pulse, beat to the music, and be turned off.

Monitor

Acer S271HLbid 27.0" 1920x1080 60 Hz Monitor

I picked this up at Best Buy for $150. It's not worth anything more. Don't get me wrong, it's great, besides being kinda flimsy. Colors are good for what it is and viewing angles aren't bad.

Speakers

Logitech Z313 25 W 2.1 Channel Speakers

Probably just the ones I got, but they started crackling a few months after I bought them. They sounded good before but they're slowly getting worse and it hasn't even been 6 months

Yup. Also on the expansion covers and drive caddies. It matches the motherboard so well.

How did you paint the rings on the corsair fans? Did you use any primer or did you just paint it straight on?

I used some light sandpaper to rough up the plastic so the paint could stick better. They were already white so I didn't use any primer. Then about 3 coats of the gold paint.

Yup. It's been more than 2 months already, but games like Terraria, Duck Game, Undertale, and Rogue Legacy have kept me busy when I'm not at work or school.

Probably just yellowish. Plus it would be silly to put RGB lighting in a case with no side panel. Plus, I found out with my first build that I like no lighting in my case.

Gold theme <3 that color scheme is awesome ! You'll need to find a Pascal GPU with gold accents, like the actual EVGA 980 Ti Hybrid, or something :)

I was definitely thinking about EVGA when the new cards are out. I could paint another card gold, (thinking about MSI), but I don't think the card would suit the look of the build.

i had the same issues with those logitech speakers, thy're crap, What are your Ambient temps because 44C under load on an Air cooler is ******* perfection my man!

Help! The motherboard has alot of bad reviews in newegg and i find it the perfect one, should i buy or not? most of the problems were DIMM slots issues and the mother board being too short!!! this is my build: http://pcpartpicker.com/list/Ls9H9W

The motherboard has been absolutely wonderful. It's standard ATX size and I had no issues with the DIMM slots. I fully recommend buying it.

Yes I believe so. You can move it back, rotate it, or move it up. Usually only to make room for a radiator.

Sorry I don't check here often. I don't think that the drive cage will fit in the other slot. The PSU cables are in the way
