Description

My dad was running windows vista and decided it was finally time for an update. Some of his wants were something that would last 5-7 years, have a solid state drive and run two monitors. For this build I wanted something not to fast and something that would keep the CPU and all the components cool and dust free for a long life.

Part Reviews

CPU

Since this not going to be for gaming or anything intensive I wanted something decent but nothing that ran too hot.

CPU Cooler

Instructions were clear, quality components, everything fit perfect.

Motherboard

I never have problems with Asus motherboards. I use the AI suite to dial in the fans.

Memory

It was between this and crucial, If I had know that the crucial would of fit in with my Noctua NH-D9L , I would of probably gone differently.

Storage

Went for the Green for the low decibel level of operation. Never had any problems with WD.

Video Card

A little annoyed by the mini HDMI, didn't' realize it wasn't a full size but this should take care of running to monitors not for gaming.

Case

Sound dampening, dust filters and non obtrusive looks were reasons for picking this.

Power Supply

Haven't even heard the fan turn on yet! Nice and quiet.

Optical Drive

Maybe it was from the delivery but was very loud, going to replace at local PC store.

its great but you really didn't need the gpu because the igpu is more than enough

You're probably right. My work dell laptop core i5 can push 3 screens without a dedicated GPU.

Nice build.

Great! I only have one suggestion, if you wanted the cooling for cheaper and relatively similar you might have found the cooler master hyper 212 evo useful.

I agree. An Antec VP-450 would have been a better option.
