Build

Fish Tank

by critti00

Description

Sorry for the B&W photography... color was to expensive.

My PC is constantly evolving, a Frankenstein of components from older builds and newer parts. Mostly excited about the new case by Lian-li. A great opportunity to start learning costume water cooling.

Moved my hardware from a NZXT S340 their new address is roomy and stylish. I pre-ordered the Lian-Li PC-O11D a month ago on HardwareCanucks recommendation and have no regrets. constantly checking the order statue it was delayed a week not sure why. Building in it so far has been a joy.

Next on the list is to get a pump, reservoir, hard tubing, radiators and get this case doing what its designed for.

Great presentation in black and white. Don't change a single picture.

I'd wager if you added more story to your description, you'd be featured.

Thumbs up.

critti00 submitter 5 Builds 5 points 9 months ago

Thanks for the advice! I’ll see what I can come up with to add to the description.

Jackison 2 points 9 months ago

Fix the typo please.... Custom not costume. Unless that's a thing? Is it? lol :)

critti00 submitter 5 Builds 2 points 9 months ago

Thanks for the heads up.

Jackison 6 points 9 months ago

Forgot to say ******* nasty pics dude. Those B&W make it better I feel like! +1

critti00 submitter 5 Builds 2 points 9 months ago

You called it. Thanks mi amigo!

Zeusasaurus 16 points 9 months ago

Did you just buy a 4k monitor and spend almost $2000, and only come away with a 1050ti? yikes

haidersherazi 2 points 1 month ago

Yeah this makes absolutely no sense.

HazordouSam 7 points 9 months ago

Waht I though you build this in a Fish Tank :( lol cool build man

thatboi12 2 points 4 months ago

Ya I thought the same thing at first

Real_GabeN_ 6 points 9 months ago

Wow B&W color gives a real charm on your build ! That's a Feature-Proof quality images ! +1

Gooberdad 10 Builds 5 points 9 months ago

Well said. I'm with you.

critti00 submitter 5 Builds 2 points 9 months ago

Thanks mi amigo.

hello_im_back_home 5 points 9 months ago

Why 1050ti in such build ?

Hold 4 points 9 months ago

Feature just for the picture quality

diabolicflame93 4 Builds 3 points 9 months ago

This build looks amazing, and the black and white photos are great :) I don't think I've see a build in this case yet, but it looks like an nice case to build in.

critti00 submitter 5 Builds 2 points 9 months ago

It was fun and with all that room plan on using it for a long time.

customgtp 23 Builds 3 points 9 months ago

Looks great. Pictures look amazing too +1

Jnathanroy 1 Build 2 points 9 months ago

Hoping to finish mine this month... Just need the processor. Also 2600X with 1050 Ti. Went for cheaper B350 mobo and 3200 CL14 RAM. I'm not a hardcore gamer so the 1050 Ti ought to be enough for now.

critti00 submitter 5 Builds 2 points 9 months ago

I’m surprised by the 1050ti it’s preforms way better then expected. Originally got it to hold me over till gpu prices returned to normal. But it’s working fine for me now.

nulldotzero 2 points 9 months ago

I'm so hyped for this case!! Be sure to repost when you're done with the custom loop :)

horty23 2 points 9 months ago

Love this case! Planning a loop in it soon?

critti00 submitter 5 Builds 1 point 9 months ago

You know it!

Nerdatron_of_Pi 2 points 9 months ago

Good work

RoyalSovereign 2 points 9 months ago

I love it. Nothing to add.... Simply beautiful and classic. It has some kind of unique "touch" when it comes to "theme" of this build.

Gooberdad 10 Builds 2 points 9 months ago

Hey congrats on getting the featured spot.

Lots of folks loving those beautiful pictures.

critti00 submitter 5 Builds 1 point 9 months ago

Thanks, I'm way stoked. Glad to be apart of the pcpartpicker community

AceFan84 1 Build 2 points 9 months ago

I’m jealous, I got this case preordered on Newegg but it’s backordered and I’m not sure how long it will be until I get mine. I think for now I’m going to do an AIO but once I upgrade my 980ti to something new (hopefully nvidia’s next cards later this year) I might do my first ever custom loop (as terrifying as that sounds!).

critti00 submitter 5 Builds 1 point 9 months ago

I know exactly what you mean, I'm a little terrified too but this case is screaming custom loop.

SuperCMTR 1 Build 2 points 9 months ago

Will you ever upgrade to a 1070 or a 1080. Don't get me wrong the 1050ti is great but i feel like a 1070 will or a 1080 will go great with your parts.

slkipp 1 Build 2 points 9 months ago

Gorgeous presentation, but you gotta fix that PCIE cable management with a wire comb or three

looks good though. You could run the bump wire up the right side and zip it to the other wire there, that'd also improve the looks< IF it's reversible, I don't know.

AndreSingh 1 Build 2 points 9 months ago

One of the best presentation to a build i've seen yet.

mightylord 2 points 9 months ago

Lovely build dude, Presentation looks way better with black and white i think. Do you think that you can link the HardwareCanucks video? +1

critti00 submitter 5 Builds 2 points 9 months ago
mightylord 1 point 8 months ago

Thanks dude, I think I might do a custom loop in this. I just don't know what to get :/ I'm on a strict budget of 1500 NZD.

click71 2 points 8 months ago

im not sure if going with Gigabyte is a good idea. They're manufactured by hand so the fail rate is a bit higher than other motherboard manufactuers, but i guess this is why they have Back up Bios hahah. Fantastic build overall. But seriously though, if you're going to run a 4k monitor, you'll definitely need a 1070 minimum.

TheLegend2 2 points 5 months ago

a 2000 dollars build and at the end a 1050ti?

ritzbitzz 1 point 9 months ago

Your the first person to post a build in this new lian li case. how do you like the case?

critti00 submitter 5 Builds 1 point 9 months ago

Its great! lots of room for a small foot print.

bengy22 4 Builds 1 point 9 months ago

Hey the first O11d build! I, like you, want to move from my s340 to the O11d, any regrets with it so far?

critti00 submitter 5 Builds 1 point 9 months ago

Case is great, lots of room but still looks great with out a custom loop.

lge01 1 Build 1 point 9 months ago

Looks cinematic :) Very well-put-together! What camera are you using? Seems like a HardwareCanucks type of shot.

critti00 submitter 5 Builds 1 point 9 months ago

Thanks. A Canon M3.

gosubuilder 1 point 9 months ago

How is the airflow on that case?

Camberto5 1 point 9 months ago

The extra space above the motherboard is crying for a radiator.

critti00 submitter 5 Builds 1 point 9 months ago

Agreed. I’ll probably move my rad and populate the side with just fans for now.

critti00 submitter 5 Builds 1 point 9 months ago

looking forward to filling that space.

SirHalpin 1 Build 1 point 9 months ago

The build and pictures look really good! I'm just kinda confused why you have the case against a wall, essentially blocking the vent opening for the fans on the radiator. You've got my +1 though

scarfxce 1 Build 1 point 9 months ago

I love that case, kinda wish I went with it. Hows the airflow in that bad boy?

alfanhui 1 point 9 months ago

Love the photos, you should revisit the photography after a year, letting the dust a chance to settle.. :D

Arminecraft 1 Build 1 point 9 months ago

Fighting against RGB I see :p you get an upvote just for that

MichealJoeden 1 point 9 months ago

My favorite case by far, would be a waste of money to buy it and not use it, but I may just have to do that.

Raiderboy105 1 point 9 months ago

Is that plaque at the rear of the case removable, or is it riveted in?

torexko 2 points 9 months ago

Yes it is removable. I believe it's magnetic.

OrbitalBuzzsaw 1 Build 1 point 9 months ago

Now you just need to do oil cooling in this thing.

torexko 1 point 9 months ago

Good work! I am patiently waiting for my PC-O11D to arrive and I too plan to do my first custom water loop. So make sure to post an updated build once you make it. Do you have and ideas for the radiator/pump placements, fan orientation and tube routing?

lge01 1 Build 1 point 9 months ago

My coworker says that your PC looks like a vending machine :) Put some Doritos and Dew inside and insert a coin into the USB port :)

mma 1 point 9 months ago

I'm waiting for this case to be available to the public.. beside those who picked up the first 100. Perfect case to put E atx, 4 gpu, 2 power supplies

rgr1990 1 point 9 months ago

Great build

Really want that case, but can't find it anywhere.

bedp 1 point 8 months ago

I'm thinking about getting the same processor and motherboard. Everything runs smoothly?

critti00 submitter 5 Builds 1 point 8 months ago

I'm coming from a fx 8350 so to me yes.

eli.paulman 1 point 8 months ago

A quick question. Do all the orange parts on the Mobo change color or are they permanently orange.

Liked the build btw!

critti00 submitter 5 Builds 1 point 8 months ago

The logo is the only rgb on this mobo the rest is painted.

joshsc7 1 point 7 months ago

These photos are amazing!! What's your experience with the monitor so far?

critti00 submitter 5 Builds 2 points 7 months ago

Thanks. love the monitor just wish it was bigger then 27 inches since its 4k, at least 32 inches. I use it for productive not so much gaming.

joshsc7 1 point 7 months ago

Appreciate your response. I intend to use it in the exact same way :)

HiResJunky 2 Builds 1 point 7 months ago

I just finished my PC-011 Dynamic watercooled build. This case is SIMPLY AMAZING. So easy to work in, I put in 2x 360 RADS 9 corsair LL120 fans and a custom RES and it's not even crowded! Check it out https://ca.pcpartpicker.com/b/FfRJ7P

critti00 submitter 5 Builds 1 point 6 months ago

I'm jealous, good job!

Whiskey.201 1 point 5 months ago

Mind if i ask... Why 4k monitor with a GTX1050ti ?

Why custom loop when you already have a high end AIO ?

Also.. why the low speed RAM ?

MichealJoeden 1 point 4 months ago

Are you doing your build yet?

ItsWorkz 1 point 4 months ago

What did you use for WiFi?

critti00 submitter 5 Builds 1 point 4 months ago

I bought a wifi card from Microcenter

Kvahuest 1 point 4 months ago

Hey, I want to get this board but I don't like the orange on it, how did you manage to remove it on your board?

critti00 submitter 5 Builds 1 point 3 months ago

Your able to change the lights in the bios. The painted part are still there but don’t bother me, it’s closes enough to red.

alex147691 1 point 3 months ago

Should get 144hz, payed to much for 1050ti vs 1060 and wayyy to much on the m.2 even though it is nice, you could be getting better frame rate with better cpu and gpu, I am making a similar build but I got a 1060 3gb for 90$ and it it totaling to be around 700-800

Shrood 0 points 9 months ago

how is this a bottleneck the 1050ti does NOT hold back the 1600 and 2600 just look it up

critti00 submitter 5 Builds 1 point 9 months ago

True, just thought it was a funny name. Maybe I'll change it to Fish Tank.

Shrood 1 point 9 months ago

good name

Nater650 0 points 9 months ago

Don’t apply the latest windows update it will crash your system

jayl89 0 points 9 months ago

Meh, nice photography skills, but I don't think those pictures reflect the build accurately. I guess that's one way to color coordinate.

Kalah 0 points 6 months ago

You need to buy a single 16gb ram kit rather than 2 8gb kits to ensure maximum compatibility and performance

rogdog56 2 points 3 months ago

I would agree with you if the person was intending to add another stick in soon

Kvahuest 1 point 4 months ago

dual channel is better

rogdog56 0 points 3 months ago

this is such a weird config, lol. Nice build.
