Description

The reason the 1080 FE is 629 instead of 699 is because it was open box at Microcenter. Thus far it smashes everything I throw at it. Now I just need to get a monitor that isn't 1080p. And yes I know my PSU is technically below minimum spec for the 1080, but it still works just fine. The gpu in the second to last pic is a 770.

Is the i5 a bottlenecck in any games like witcher 3, watch dogs or GTA 5 if you play any?

How's the H60 work on your build? I plan to overclock, so I am not entirely sure I am sold on it for that reason.

It keeps everything cool but, I have no desire to OC, and even if I did, I couldn't because I dont have a Z-series board and a thin 120mm rad isnt enough to OC and see any difference

Dude props.. I spent 1500 on mine and came out with an 15 6600k, GTX 1070, and no SSD, I mean I love my build but I really wanted to go with the 1080 lol. Great job bro

I forgot to put this in the description, but I didnt just go out an buy all this stuff. I've had everything except for the 1080 since almost christmas. Also, about a third of the stuff in this build was paid for with xmas or bday money.

Nice build, I'm thinking about doing a 1070 build with this case, but I'm a little worried about it fitting, does the gpu, cause the case to flex or bow at all?

No, not at all. It fits just fine. Just stick to cards with a reference pcb and you'll be fine. And I think a gigabyte g1 would fit, but don't quote me on that.

Can you OC the i5 on this motherboard? I have this mobo w/ a G3258 and am looking to upgrade to a 4690k. If yours is overclocked, let me know what the temps are like. Thanks

yes you can oc this board the you have the right bios installed :)

No, you cant OC on this board. You need a "Z-series" motherboard (Z97).

"clearance item" how and why? Sweet build, I'm glad to have confirmation that a 1080 does fit! Temps??

I'm assuming you're talking about the 1080. I woke up one morning and checked the stock of 1080s at my local MC (like I did every morning), and lo and behold there was an open box one for 10% off of MSRP. I don't think I've ever gotten ready and been out the door so fast in my life.

hello! nice build man, i want to ask something, where did you put your 3.5 inch drive? i didn't see that anywhere...

do you think the 450w psu is enough?

  • 1 point

Yes, it works just fine. Now if I ever decide to OC, then 450w won't be enough. But I'm not OCing, so I'm good

Why so cheap?

The gpu was open box at microcenter

dude you could probably run a 1080ti with a 450W even though its not recommended, i would say something like 550w is safe 650w if your paranoid, 450w is cutting it close but its not gonna kill anything
