Description

Had a 8 year old system that I had been doing little upgrades over the years. Finally started to get into the low settings in games and had to go.

Part Reviews

CPU

And God said to Moses Thou shall not have to toil with a Q6600 anymore. The sky opened and with a mighty flash the 6600K floated down from Heaven.

Moses stood in awe at it's magnificence and knew that the stuttering fallout 4 with his old bottlenecked cpu was about to come to an end.

CPU Cooler

Keeps the 6600k below 50 on full load at 4.3 GHz, happy.

Motherboard

Probably should of gone for one of the gaming boards but this does the job. Oh the I/O shield is **** but aren't they all now.

Storage

After years on a old P35 mother board with slow HDs this is a miracle. Will get another with more gigs to replace one of the HDs soon.

Video Card

Got for old system Q6600 with P35 MB and 4 gig of DDR2 ram. Bottlenecked it terribly which is obvious but only really showed on Fallout 4. Since upgrading whole system goes fine and with an oc 6600k cpu and 8 gig of ddr4 ram on a z170 mb play high to ultra on fallout 4 & farcry 4 getting 40 to 50 fps which I find alright. Just keeping till new gpu's come out soon otherwise would of upgraded with system but seems a waste to buy now when this is ok and the new gpu's are supposed to be so much better than today's offerings.

Case

1st New case since a Coolermaster centurion 5

Pros good amount of fans and places for fans (only installed one extra in front) Pretty quiet well compared to the old Centurion PSU on bottom of case with air coming from under case plenty of space for HDs and a space for a SSD enough holes etc for cable management space for larger video cards nice and stealth and not the obscene 'gamers' cases you see being advertised window on side nice although I hate leds etc inside case but still a nice touch

Cons No where enough room on back for decent cable management especially if you have a few HDs. A few more cm's would of helped. Just a little thing but why not give cable ties instead of those ties you use to tie up an open bag of flour? A little plasticy but what to expect at that price so just me moaning like a ********

Overall my only problem was the cable management area and depth of side panel. Instructions could of been better for anyone that is using for a 1st build.

Optical Drive

had for years and still works although when do you ever use them these days?

Operating System

Yip.

Monitor

nice, upgrade from an old 24" dell and major improvement. Just have on standard option as everything else looks cartoonish. Mainly use for gaming and enough for me, has speakers but as always they're **** but I only use headphones in any case.

Would recommend.
