Description

What's up guys! Thanks pcpartpicker for all detail parts information! I finally finished my first ever PC build!

My initial intention was to build a PC where I can try all AAA games with ultra display... Also I definitely want some RGB effect so that it makes me feel the sense of tech while staring at my case ;)

Starting from budget limitation, Ryzen 5 2600 is a good option. Plus GTX 1070 Ti, which can allow me to try whatever game on the market(i suppose?)

Then compose all "not bad" mobo, cpu, ssh, hdd, psu, case. It turns out to be a small monster!

One thing I couldn't help myself doing is R!G!B!. I really love those colors, specifically talking about Corsair LL120 fans as well as the latest H100i RGB platinum AIO cooler. Of course there are cheaper options also with RGB effects. But after some research I still cannot move my eyes off above mentioned products. Damn! I am bankrupted!

Overall it is a good experience to learn all these pc building knowledge. Can't wait to start my next game!

Is this a good FPS gaming build?

It definitely is, if you play under 4K.

I’m a console player looking to move on to pc so I’m just looking for 1080 to 1440p And for pure gaming would intel or amd be better

Both AMD and Intel are good gaming platforms. Maybe Intel is a bit overpriced so you might pick AMD if your budget is limited.

Due to superior single-threaded speed, Intel is the best for gaming but it is expensive

if you are gonna run something like a 1070 to 1080 i'd just buy a ryzen 5. Intel tax is way too steep rn and ryzen is just such a deal as of late.

I can say that should be more than fine. As I have a 2600x and a 1080 I play every game on max settings at 2k with 144hz Ranging from 80-120 FPS depending on the game and whats happening.

Hey I am also getting a 1440p monitor but it's still in shipping so I did not mention that. But in terms of gaming, whether intel or amd is not going to make a big difference if they are on the same level. I'm choosing the cheap one! Now it's the GPU that is the bottleneck of gaming experience in most cases. For example if you would like play 4k gaming with ultra display(although you mentioned 1440p), you definitely gonna need a beast $$$$ GPU.

So if you had to between this build and this one https://pcpartpicker.com/list/JwJ6QZ what would you prefer

They are equivalents. Good build.

I would (and did) take the Ryzen offer. The R5 2600 is faster than the i5 in anything multi-threaded. In games they are about equal but the 2600 can be overclocked for more performance.

The i5 build isn't bad, just the R5 2600 is a much better deal.

Thanks! Haven't really monitored temperatures... Will learn how to do that... Any handy tools for checking temps?

You can use HWMONITOR by CPUID!

Thanks! I will try this out! Actually I felt the temp at the exhaust fan with my hand... Not hot at all! LOL

This is a very good custom PC build! Is great for people who are on a budget, and great for gaming. The AMD Ryzen 5 is the CPU that I am planning to purchase and use on my custom PC build as well. Overall, this is a really good computer and looks amazing!

Thank you! That's the point... actually I really feel if you want spend $ you get what is needed but if you really like those cool effects you may need to spend $$$$... Ryzen 5 is on sale now I believe, hurry up! ;( I did not get it at the best price... but nvm ;)

Im actually building a really similar one with the same cpu but a gtx 1080 founders edition. I dont really plan on playing above 1080p but i want to play at the highest settings and 144 fps. Think my rig will be able to do it?

  • 1 point

Yeah... shouldn't be a problem! I've gone through several benchmarks and for most games it will work. But is founders edition a good choice? I was not checking but do think twice ;) maybe I'm more interested in double/triple fans and RGBs on a video card.

Nice build! One thing I know I learned the first time was matching RGB software. Maybe would have gotten the Corsair RGB Ram? I guess it depends a lot on the prices of each. Anyways, I love it welcome to the RGB club

Hmm... Makes sense... I was focusing more on price itself... I was asking myself "Can I get all parts from same brand?", because seems like those big brands have all kinds of parts on sale... Eventually I gave up that thought and pick the parts that I liked most.

RGB is making life more colorful most def!

Maybe take the side panel off when taking pictures. There is quite a glare. Nice rig tho

Hi, I just purchased the h100i platinum too. I notice there are only two modes quiet and extreme for the pump speed right? At quiet it indicates the pump speed is at 2400rpm, extreme at 2900 rpm. Is yours the same? Because I find the pump is too loud for my taste
