Description

I always liked the way the BitFenix Prodigy cases looked so when one came up for such a cheap price I bought it immediately and figured I'd work around it. I found out quickly working in an ITX case is not simple! It was pretty fun to do and I can't wait to see the response when I put it up for sale. I'm hoping my Maneki-neko will bring great fortune! Regarding the gpu, I was planning on using the EVGA 750 TI, but I received an offer I couldn't refuse on it. I was planning on using the R9 270 for something else, but it has worked out great so far!

For graphics I benchmarked Uningine Valley, Mafia II, NBA 2k13 (14 has issues), Battlefield 4, and Titanfall. Tests were done no a 1920x1080p 60hz plasma tv. Valley results are above in pictures. For BF4 and Titanfall I used fraps to get an idea of fps. I'm sure during heavy fire the numbers will dip substantially. By no means am I trying to indicate this setup will achieve a constant 52fps in BF4. I am very pleased with the performance.

Battlefield 4 - Ultra (4x AA) - 52fps Titanfall - Ultra - 55fps Mafia II - Ultra maxed - 57fps, 4x AA - 60fps NBA 2k13 - Ultra maxed 55fps

It was pretty fun to do this build and I can't wait to see the response when I put it up for sale. I'm hoping my Maneki-neko will bring great fortune!

CPU: Purchased with MSI Z97-PC mate from Microcenter. Sold motherboard on Ebay and subtracted from original price. 4.0ghz stable with Prime. Could go higher I'm sure but since it's for sale I want to make sure it's stable. Plus it's on the stock cooler.

Motherboard: This was a tough decision. I didn't want to get a budget board with zero options and I needed to make sure it could overclock the G3258. This board fit that build. The built in wifi is a nice perk as well! Price after 10% off promo from Newegg.

Memory: Nothing special. Price after rebates.

HDD: Bought in bulk from Quill.com.

GPU: Price after rebate from Tigerdirect. I really like MSI video cards and this one hasn't disappointed.

Case: Sale price after rebate from Tigerdirect. Was a no brainer to grab it for such a price.

psu: Price after rebate and promo from Newegg.

OD: Yep

OS: Sidemicro.com has the best price for a legit OS I've found. Comes with certification and key.

Case Fans: Price after rebate from Tigerdirect. I'm a huge fan of Cougar case fans. Great product for the money.

Absolutely outstanding budgeting. THough It appears you got some pretty abnormal deals. Black friday Im guessing? Either way, you did it right, this build will probably run most games (except crysis 3) on ultra at 40-50 fps average.

Some parts were bought the week of. Others were bought months ago. Whenever I see an incredible price on an item I buy it. The ram was bought about 4 months ago. Thank you for the comment though! I appreciate it!

Can you show a video of gameplay with all settings on ultra with fraps? I want to see frame rates @1080 compared to my build.

I sold this build quite some time ago and haven't heard from the buyer so it leaves me to assume all is fine. I mainly went with that psu because of price and being semi modular. Now I'd probably go with something else. With a 4.3ghz overclock on the cpu it's using roughly 305w. That psu should be fine, but again I'd choose something different looking back at it.
