Description

When I was a child, during the 90s, the other kids had their ATARI and other consoles, but my father did not understand the concept of spending money on games or consoles. I started pc gaming when my uncle bought his first pc. I used to play on his IBM Aptiva with the only game that came with it, FIFA 98.

When my father bought us the first family pc, back in 2002, I didn't know anything on pc parts. We got an intel pentium 3 with integrated graphics and 64 mb of RAM. I was excited, finally I could game at home. But I was sadly disappointed to see that my pc could hardly reach the minimum requirement of games back then, not mentioning that that the IBM Netvista, that we got, had issues; it was freezing all the time. I made myself a promise: when I grow up and get a job, I'll buy a killer gaming pc. I'll buy the best my money can afford.

Time has come to fulfill that promise. I finally built the pc of my dreams, the best performance my budget can get, my first build ever, the RYZEN 7 1700 paired with a gtx 1070 and 32 gigs of RAM. Yes I know 32 gb of RAM may be too much for gaming, but, since that IBM junk we got, I have a RAM complex. I was hesitating between AMD RYZEN or Intel Kaby-lake, made my mind on the RYZEN because I can't benefit from the extra fps the i7-7700 k 4 ghz core clock would give me, since my monitor is 60 hz.

Very nice, a well balanced build. Good parts selection.

If you decide to put a mild overclock on that 1700, you should have no problem with 3.7ghz on that wraith cooler. I actually went to 3.6ghz on mine with the Wraith Spire, but I undervolted it to 1.10v and it ran very cool. I only went with a tower cooler because I got it for $13 after MIR and now I'm at 3.8ghz / 1.25v and my load temps still only max out at 69c.

AMD has come a long way since FX, these Ryzen CPUs don't really need any drastic cooling solutions even when overclocked.

+1

I don't live in the US. I live in Tunisia, North Africa. It wasn't easy, the grind was real, especially that we can't purchase via internet in here, so I was limited to the local tech shops. I waited 45 days to get that GPU(special thanks to miners). And my friend who lives abroad got me the nvme ssd and the RAM.
