Description

Hello everyone so I finally finished my first build. This build was supposed to be finished 2 years ago but I got very busy with becoming a dad and had no time to build it. Then when things got settled down and I had some free time I started buying the parts and finished building it. I had bought couple of parts back then so I had to re sell them and buy new parts and the only part that I kept was the Phantom case. This build is mainly used for heavy Gaming/3D Modeling/Rendering/Photoshop/Animation. I had no problems in placing and putting all the parts together the only time I got little lost was I did not know where to connect some of the cables but then I figured it out and connected them. So here is a breakdown of the parts as to why I chose those parts.

CPU: I chose i7-4770K for the hyper threading so it won't give me a problem when I use programs like 3Ds Max, Maya and Photoshop and I got it OCed to 4.2ghz which I'll probably take it up to around 4.6ghz as I am new to overclocking I do not want to mess it up.

CPU Cooler: I just wanted a liquid cooler so I chose H80i and I heard good things about it and the reason I did not choose air cooler is because I just don't like those big things covering my whole motherboard :)

Motherboard: I got a lot of help from www.tomshardware.com about the motherboard and a lot of people recommended the Maximus VI Hero so I bought. I love the look of the motherboard and it has awesome features.

SSD: Had to choose the popular Samsung 840 EVO and I am loving it. It loads Windows just in seconds and is very fast!

HDD: Not much about the HDD it is just HDD that I will store a lot of music and files on it.

GPU: At first I was going to get GTX 770 but then I got some extra money so I was like let me just pick up the GTX 780 and boy did I do the right thing. This card is amazing and so far I only run Titanfall on it and it maxes out the game with no problems at all.

Case: The case is really a personal preference I just liked the way it looked and I love red color. Also it has some good cable management options even though I did not do that great of a cable management.

PSU: I was originally was going to buy Seasonic X-Series 850w but I wanted sleeved cables and I have no idea how to sleeve the cables and don't have the time. So after that I changed it to Corsair AX860 because corsair sells their own individually sleeved cables and I was going to buy that but they were out of the RED sleeved cables so I started looking for another PSU. EVGA caught my eye because they announced their own sleeved cables plus G2 series is a Tier 1 PSU so I went with EVGA Supernova 850 G2 and I bought their red sleeved cables. Also if you are wondering why I got 850w is because I will be adding the second GTX 780 later.

ODD: You know nobody cares about ODD anymore so I just bought the cheap one so I can use my Windows CD to install Windows.

OS: I was going to buy Windows 7 because I hate windows 8 but I ended up buying windows 8 because I heard upcoming updates are going to make it better and windows 8 has slight better performance in games.

Monitor: This monitor was given to me by my dad as a present and it was brand new not something that I would choose but it is still a great and huge monitor so I can't complain. I will be adding to more monitors later when I buy the second GTX 780.

Keyboard and Mouse: I feel in loved with ROCCAT products when I saw them the keyboard is very awesome mechanical keyboard with Red cherry MX and the mouse Kone XTD is just beautiful and very good mouse with both of them having a lot of different customization option with the Roccat software called Roccat Talk FX and the mouse glides so smooth on that Roccat Raivo mousepad.

Headset: I had the G930 from back in the days when I had my Alienware M17x laptop and I will never ever in my life buy a laptop again.

Hope you guys enjoyed the pics as much as I enjoyed building this pc. I had a lot of fun and I am very happy with the results!

It's ok, everyone has their own taste, like i really like orange and white together, even though it rarely seen, but i think it looks amazing, I've seen too many Red/black themed builds for my liking. imo their need to white if you doing black and red.

Ya I'm sure orange and white would go nicely together and I do agree with you that there are too many red/black themed builds.

If only you had a 4 million dollar price tag to match the car :) Nice build +1

Well actually, the most expensive limited to 300 Ferrari's were only about $700,000 a piece. I'm just kidding, good build +1.

Yes very pleased with it, the only thing is its pretty big

How do you like the tactile feeling?

It's good not too clicky and is not too soft and not too hard it's very balanced. Sometimes if you are a very fast typer then it might get little noisey but again not that much that would actually annoy you.

I just got my Ducky shine 3 with brown switches aswell it's an amazing keyboard too. Never tried the roccat ones. I tend to stick to Corsair, Ducky and DasKeyboard.

thank you! the keyboard is really good just little bit big and little bit pricey other than that it is a great keyboard

Welcome. I do love and own that ROCCAT mouse. That keyboard is very nice. A bit pricey to me as well, but if you can afford it, why not, especially if it's a quality keyboard. I love my Corsair key board, but I also think the $120 I paid for is too much. But good mechanical keyboards cost. Love the brown switches.

Devils canyon had fixed heat issues from haswell... you should at least care about that.

true but not gonna cry over it :)

Intel made haswell have terrible TIM, haswell refresh is still a better overclocker anyways. The 4770K and 4670K are completely redundant now.
