Build

Asus ROG Gaming AIO Build

by brokenhips

Description

Mostly gaming reduced the case size from a full tower on a previous build. Powers through BfV and all the current games I can throw at it. Built to future proof it.

how is the cooler? great build btw!

brokenhips submitter 1 Build 4 points 4 months ago

Excellent - last cooler was Corsair - so far this is far better and cooler

undeadrebel1441 1 Build 2 points 3 months ago

I see what you did there

Hey Brokenhips - That sounds painful AF :(

Your build is sexy AF , can tell you have really thought about what elements to use in order to "future proof" your rig. Looking at the fact you've arguably paired the best CPU with the best MOBO that Intel provides clearly indicates you're thinking of longevity... Not to mention the GPU your using is wayyy a head of it's time, especially in conjunction with a lot of games not yet using ray tracing-support and your PSU being a 1200w Plat standard.... Honestly if my budget allowed I would use 100% of the components you have used. I honestly don't know what else I can say about your rig mate it looks proper naughty and as stipulated earlier a lot of time, effort and money has gone into this. Plus if this is your first build it's an even greater achievement (Can you tell I'm in awe yet LOL :P )

I do have one question though mate, I have just bought your Ryujin's little brother (the 240) and have, unfortunately, heard a lot of bad "opinions" about it thus I am desperately trying to acquire the POV of someone that actually owns it. So my question lol how does it perform when idle and under load? and would you still recommend the Ryujin over other AIO's now you have seen what it's capable of? I completely understand yours is the 360 and on an Intel CPU where mine is gonna be on a 2700X but I can't seem to find any builds using the 240 on PCPP.

Anyway sorry for the long winded question mate and again 10/10 for your rig you ave killed it!!!! :P

Liquid

brokenhips submitter 1 Build 3 points 3 months ago

Thanks, Liquid - I went for the 360 as for me the cooling performance was better than the 240 - extra rad section and the fan I believe has made a difference. BfV of highest settings - the CPU never breaches 51 degrees.

On general use - work, word excel etc - I am hitting 31 degrees max and it generally hovers around 28

I don't have any fan whine, overheating problems at all (touch wood) so far. Having had a Corsair h110i fitted to the previous overclocked rig - the Asus blows it out of the water - the corsair consistently failed to cope under load for me.

I considered a full custom loop - but the reality is I don't want to have to drain the rig annually or risk leaks at my fault.

Longevity - exactly what I was aiming for - intention is to add a secondary 2080 card once the software is around that needs it. After the 2080 ti reviews - stayed away from them - they are not ready for market yet.

Would also say the Corsair Mp510 drives are excellent - fast boot on the 240gb and the 1920gb drive is performing brilliantly for games.

Hips.

does the ryujin aio have the standard round asetek cover plate on the bottom?

brokenhips submitter 1 Build 1 point 4 months ago

Its a square plate on the 360 - Very good. You can set your own logos or gifs or alternate the pc settings - such as temp etc

patrickong 1 point 3 months ago

I have this same cooler and have been trying to put a GIF or JPG but it does not want to cooperate with me. I downloaded AI Suite 3 and LiveDash. Any help?

brokenhips submitter 1 Build 1 point 2 months ago

Use ASUS Live Dash

patrickong 1 point 2 months ago

I have AI Suite 3 and LiveDash installed. I got it working when I unplugged it and then plugged it back in. When I went to Live Dash to try and change it, it stopped working on me.

brokenhips submitter 1 Build 1 point 4 months ago

Sorry round base late under the board for support - square under the top cover

oofer15 1 point 4 months ago

thx

0versen 1 point 4 months ago

Are these temps corect!? :)

brokenhips submitter 1 Build 2 points 4 months ago

Added some pics - but actually cooler on the pics 29c running at 4.6ghz Overclocked out of the box - using the AI on the Asus board.

SOHEIL_raei 2 Builds 1 point 4 months ago

Full asus build Nice

SquaLLio 1 point 4 months ago

What kind of cooler pts are you getting? I'm averaging around 150pts, which is pretty depressing considering my NH-D15 was getting around 169pts. Wondering if I should re-seat and try a different paste.

a6600 1 point 4 months ago

Looks great! Any coil whine from the gpu? Looking into either getting this or evgas xc ultra, thanks in advance and congrats on the build!

brokenhips submitter 1 Build 1 point 3 months ago

No whine at all

Tazzify 1 point 4 months ago

Can you give a few CPU temperature examples on a few games? And have you tried overclocking and checking the temps?

brokenhips submitter 1 Build 1 point 3 months ago

Overclocked out of the box using the Asus AI on the board - running at 4.6ghz - temps in BF5 - 42 to 46 degrees.

Sezguin 1 point 4 months ago

Awesome build, I'm looking to do something similar myself.

Does the PSU cut out in the case cover any of the RGB element on the Thor PSU? Can't tell fully from your pics.

brokenhips submitter 1 Build 1 point 3 months ago

Case cutout is glass - Thor shows the wattage all the time - love it

wirclickwir 1 Build 1 point 4 months ago

This is a gorgeous build with a great choice of parts. How are you liking the Asus Ryujin AIO? I love the concept with the big OLED display and Noctua PPC fans, and I'm thinking of using it in my next build (in fact, I'm using many of the same parts except for G.Skill RGB RAM and Samsung SSDs).

brokenhips submitter 1 Build 1 point 3 months ago

Thanks - the AIO from Asus - for me is the best I have had - aside from the excellent cooling - you can set your own images if you choose - or select from a list of predefined temps etc or images .

xlarti 1 point 4 months ago

Absolutely sick build. It's pretty much exactly what I dream of getting.

Question: Are you worried about the PSU getting choked out because the cooler is facing upwards and there is a shroud there? Is there enough clearance around it for it to get air from below? Or do you just think it's a non issue because the psu is massively overpowered anyway and probably won't even run the fan?

brokenhips submitter 1 Build 2 points 3 months ago

Thanks - build it as a wind tunnel for max cooling. Front of the case has 3 corsair magnetic fans drawing inwards - AIO draws inwards from the top and the rear corsair fan exhausts out .. temps are great - 27 to 32 idle and PCH temps at 45

bbarnes1 1 point 3 months ago

Great Build! Almost the same thing I am doing. Where did you find the Thor PSU? Been looking all over for one.

brokenhips submitter 1 Build 1 point 3 months ago

Overclockers UK - got a great price = between them and Scan for the M2 drives

ahmedwiltpc 1 point 3 months ago

hi cool build how much ghz do you from the gpu

brokenhips submitter 1 Build 1 point 3 months ago

running at 4.6 - not pushed further yet

ahmedwiltpc 1 point 3 months ago

now not the cpu the graphics card

brokenhips submitter 1 Build 1 point 3 months ago

not tweaked it .. yet

daniaal 1 Build 1 point 3 months ago

Very nice build. I am going for same case and vertical gpu mount but where did you get the rise cable from?

brokenhips submitter 1 Build 1 point 3 months ago

Thanks - the riser cable is the one for the case Phantek Premium - Case comes with a stand for it - had to buy the riser separately - got mine from Falcon Computing (online)

daniaal 1 Build 1 point 3 months ago

Thanks for the reply in the end i bought one from overclockers because that all that shows on the google results. Was also out of stock there so had to wait for a while.

undeadrebel1441 1 Build 1 point 3 months ago

Amazing build man. +1!!!!

How's the PSU btw ?

brokenhips submitter 1 Build 2 points 3 months ago

Thanks - PSU so good - wattage on display constantly and powers up as required.

undeadrebel1441 1 Build 1 point 3 months ago

Thank you. Definitely what I'm getting now.

treantbiz 1 point 3 months ago

where did you get the THOR 850w?

brokenhips submitter 1 Build 1 point 2 months ago

Overclockers UK

trungxle000 1 point 3 months ago

is the PSU choking? There are no air vents on the shroud if the fan on PSU faces up.

brokenhips submitter 1 Build 1 point 2 months ago

Not at all - case makes the difference - like a wind tunnel

statspages 1 point 1 month ago

Epic build man. Literally going to build this back from a work trip, my new PG279Q is destroying my old system right now lol . Is there anything else I need that you did not list in your part list?

WindowsUpdates 1 point 29 days ago

What are your gpu temps
