Description

This build was to replace my aging asus gaming laptop which couldnt be upgraded and i had no use for the benifits of its mobility anymore. Decided to go all out and spend a fuckton on creating a masterpiece.

i completed this build at the start of november when i finally recieved my case. originally it was meant to be a lian li 011 razer edition but i couldnt wait and resist the mark down price of the Air (its still not out).

The build took me 2 days to complete as its my first. Alot of trial and error went into the tubing. This was because the waterboard didnt line up correctly with the CPU ports as i thought. the case is slightly different to the original and a few modifications to the screwholes and alignment of the waterboard had to be made. i burned my hands tring to get the custom bends in on the tubes to make them line up.

i forgot to purchase a fan controller so theres alot of fan wires in the motherboard and the wiring could be alot tidier. overall there is 3 different rgb systems at play. asus aura on the motherboard/gpu/power cables. barrow controls on the cpu/waterboard/pump. corsair on the fans/ram. Now its build though i couldnt give a **** about the cable management.

Lian li 24pin power cable doesnt work and i still need to get in touch with them.

Still need a monitor. waiting on the PG35VQ. i will wait for that unlike the case.

I'm a little lost for words, so I'm going to sum my feelings up into two words; God Damn!

Out of curiosity, is there anything that you wish you could change if you could do it all over again?

id get the O11 dynamic as the waterboard would line up better in it than the air.

Are those RGB cables?

studdenfadden 1 point 2 months ago

Yup, Strimer by Lian Li cables in 24 pin and 8 pin variety. I have the same ones, they look great and have lots of options.

They are expensive for cables (I paid $59.99 for the 24 pin and 39 for the 8 pin on amazon.) but I feel they are worth it.

Giggity! That's hot!

I did my first custom loop in August. So expensive... but I'd do it again!

So, I agree with you that the wiring could be tidier, but as it stands it's not bad! The build looks overwhelmingly awesome.

It truly is a dream build.

Hey Danny, I am really interested in your build and have been trying to find the correct tubing/res/arc block... I built my last computer 8 years ago. A little rusty, would appreciate the help!

Beast of a PC man! Why that ugly FE card?

DaveGreen 1 point 2 months ago

It's watercooled, it doesn't have the original cooler.
