NOTE BAD CABLE MANAGEMENT
This was my firs build and i was pretty exited. I Built last Friday (12/12/14). I haven't yet got any game on it apart from Minecraft but i hope to play the Assassin's Creed series and Battlefield 4. To be honest this build IS a little noisy - I think i went a little overkill on the fans but oh well... Ill just have to try and use headphones :)
As I said, I haven't tested it much yet but it looks great. I Had many people recommending either the 6300 or the 8350. I was going to go with 6300 but I expanded my budget and went for the 8350 - hopefully wont need to upgrade that any time soon!!Received a 7.7 on Windows Experience Index - Scores go from 1.0-7.9 so I'm thrilled!
Well, this being my first build I had no experience with ANY of this. This took me a few times haha. I finally figured it out and now I'm very happy with it. It looks like a Hot Rod engine. But it keeps CPU nice and cool.
Well, this wasn't my first pick. I was going to go with the MSI 970 Gaming Mobo but the place I bought it all off (PCCaseGear) had run out of stock. I made a rush decision and went with this Mobo. It's ok but i didn't get the opportunity to punch it into here and check compatibility notes. This motherboard doesn't have USB 3 headers to connect to the front panel off the case. It has plenty of USB 2's though. I would recommend the MSI 970 over this motherboard though. I also had a problem concerning RAM. It's a little confusing but basically it works if I put the RAM stick is slots B1 and B2 (Theres A1,A2,B1,B2 going from left to right when looking at the motherboard) it doesnt work but it works any other way. Not sure but i just put one in A2 and other in B2, working fine now. ried swapping it over to B1 and B2 and didnt work.
Seem to be good RAM sticks. Only reason I gave 4 stars is because of the issue with placement. I'm pretty sure its the Motherboard but may not have had this issue with other RAM - not sure. Got a 7.7 on Windows Experience Index (Scores go from 1.0 or 7.9 - so I'm Very Happy.
Seeing as it is a gaming build I slacked out a little. It may be slow but it's great for me. Very cheap, got 1tb of storage. Recycled a CRAPPY old 80gb hdd and put a backup of it on their - no harm done. Windows Experience Index only gave it 5.9 for data transfer so no the best but good enough.
Wow. I love it. From my old MacBook Pro mid 2010 with NVIDIA GeForce 320M with 256mb of memory to this is a BIG jump. I knew it was terrible but i thought it was OK. Man was i wrong. I used to be lucky if I got 20 FPS on Minecraft!!! Now I'm getting around 60FPSt. I love it. Some of you guys might think its bad compared to your 4k cards... Bit I'm just glad to not be lagging any more. Windows Experience Index Gave it a 7.9 (Best Score) for Windows Aero Graphics and also a 7.9 (as well best score possible!!) for gaming graphics! So Happy!!!
Beautiful looking case with the window. Fairly cheap. Loveing the window but i think the ventilation for the fan (in the window) is contributing to the noise factor and maybe if it wasn't there it may be quieter. All goo though :).
Great little PSU. Has a black mesh type plastic material over all the wire groups. I probably should have come with the modular version for $10 extra because I can see all the unused wires down the bottom and its quite ugly. No matter though. Looks don't really matter I guess. But would have been nice.
GREAT DEAL!! Found on eBay for just $45 dollars. He also sells Home Premium for $40 or Ultimate for $60. Only down side is there is no windows install disk or thumb drive. Although can easily be downloaded (for free) and burnt to a disk or thumb drive and installed. Great little buy and made me be able to afford the CPU Cooler. Unfortunately the same person isn't selling it any more but have a search around and beware for frauds.
Not listed in parts list but also recycled a REALLY CRAP Optical Drive. It'll do for installing the windows and really its just a 'just incase' sorta think. I recommend buying one of these because... it's can't hurt and if you don't have one... and you need one for installing a game or somehitng... and you don't... then...
Over all Very happy with the build. Would have liked that other Mobo but. Oh well. It's all alright now :).
