Description

Here's my 2nd build, it's a huge upgrade from my previous FX 4350 build (scary stuff it was a pre-built from eBay). I worked on planning this build for months and I have to say, I'm proud of it. All these parts were bought over time, especially around Black Friday, but some, such as the cooler and ssd come from my previous build. Down the line I think the only thing I'd like to upgrade would probably be the cooler, but hey don't worry, the current one's fan is pointed as exhaust. The Rx 580 I bought was honestly a steal from eBay, now, I know what you may be thinking, "That must be a mining card!" Yes, I don't rule that out, but it has had no problems whatsoever and works perfectly, and one of the things that sold me on this card was that it comes with a back plate. The only minor problem of this build was that every. single. screw was tightened to the point where I had 9 different screwdrivers on my desk to try to take just one screw out of NZXT's H500. Other than that, I'm extremely happy with this build and it wasn't that bad (coming from a pre-built) building my first pc! Thanks!

Part Reviews

CPU

Amazing! Coming from an Fx 4350 to this is such an upgrade. I have it overclocked to 3.7GHz and it was super simple to do it too! Almost every single thing that I do on this PC is done with ease because of this great processor. And it's not even that expensive!

CPU Cooler

I've had this since my previous build and it still is a great small cooler. It runs silent even with my processor overclocked and cools it extremely well.

Thermal Compound

Nothing much, keeps my processor cool!

Motherboard

This is such an amazing board! It has just the right amount of everything I need to have on this PC. The addition of RGB is a great plus and really adds to this build.

Memory

Super cool sticks of ram, I had to overclock it to it's regular speed of 3000 because in the bios it was stated as running at 2133. But other than that, great ram!

Storage

Very quick ssd, I load up into windows in less than 10 seconds and everything loads very fast thanks to this guy.

Storage

Pretty much stores all my games and files I need.

Video Card

This card can so far handle anything I throw at it, whether it be CSGO, Rising Storm Vietnam 2, or even the demanding Civil War game War of Rights. I love the fact that XFX has a backplate on this card, adding to how much I love it.

Case

The only difficult part of building this PC was the case. As I mentioned before, almost every screw was overtightened, resulting in many of them being stripped and even harder to remove or install. Other than that, I love the way this case looks and how the tempered class allows for the RGB to really pop out of the case.

Power Supply

Great power supply even though it's not modular, having extensions helps to not show the disgraceful ketchup and mustard cables.

Operating System

It's Windows, it's cool.

Monitor

Great monitor, the fact that it has Freesync is such a plus with having an Rx 580 card. I've never ever had any type of screen tear or real issues with this monitor, great buy!

Keyboard

Love the RGB and vast effects that this keyboard has. Cherry MX Red switches are just the right choice for me and give me a great feel for typing and gaming.

Mouse

Great mouse with just enough features, and of course just enough RGB.

Headphones

I still don't get how there are so many complaints about this headset, it's amazing, I haven't had any issues with it and the fact that it has RGB is such a big pls.

External Storage

Stores every other thing that I need that's not on my other hard drive.

Custom

Hides my ketchup and mustard cables great and really adds a amazing aesthetic to the build. Love the included combs to add to this set of extensions.

Yeah you honestly don’t know how excited I was to finally build this after having all my parts waiting in my room every day during my final exams. Enjoy it and I hope to see how it turns out, Merry Christmas!

Great build, the only thing I’d recommend is moving your front intake fans. It would be better to move them to the inside of that removable plate at the front, instead of the outside of the removable plate. It helps a lot with airflow and won’t choke up your fans.

Here is how it looks on your build currently: Plate-fan Plate-fan

Here’s how to help increase airflow: Fan-plate Fan-plate

Hopefully that makes sense since it’s just words not a picture lol

Yeah I get what you’re saying, I wasn’t sure where to put them when I got them so I’ll be sure to change that, thanks!

Just a question, what parts can the cable connect to? (eg like can it connect the ram)
