Description

First build, gaming and everyday stuff. Love the case, awesome flexibility. Custom OD Green to match one of my other hobbies. Cable management clean up and other minor aesthetics to come. Slight overclock to both CPU and GPU aslo in the works, tons to learn.

This is a great build, but I can't get past the fact that the case looks like a printer. Maybe it's just me, I dunno. Why didn't you get an SSD? It's not necessary, but with almost $1,600 I'd think you'd want one.

I was very surprised with the performance of the hybrid drive, super quick boot and load times. I highly recommend it for the price/performance/storage space it provides.

Upvote for the guns. It's been so long since I've been into that stuff that I can't look at them and remember what they are, hahahaha. Nice computer too.

I really like your style! I'm planning on a first build similar to yours. I'm on an unemployed, high school budget, but I'm pretty confident in building it. I wanted to know how the monitors doing? Any negatives/positives? Here's the build I'm striving for if interested http://pcpartpicker.com/p/3st6w

Wow sweet build! although you could have saved 80 bucks on a 24" asus with 1ms instead of 2. its smaller but i think the cost and the lower response time is better anyway :D

That is the monitor I decided on, but they did not have it prime on Amazon. Unfortunately I wanted/needed it NOW, so I jumped up to the bigger size for the free 2 day shipping.

Sorry I'm not the smartest when it comes to monitors but is there even a difference between 5 ms and 1 or2 ms? Do our eyes catch the difference or is it a marketing scheme?

Actually the U.S. military has been doing tests about that kinda stuff and they have found it quite noticeable if you then look at a slower response or lower fps. Honestly, I don't care about it that much unless it is actually noticeable. As long as there isn't stuttering or a lag, I'm happy.

With ms its alot like refresh rate if you use a 60hz monitor you dont really notice the change to 144. but if you have 144hz you notice a change going to 60hz. if that makes since? its the same with response time i played on a 7ms tv for awhile then i got a 1ms monitor. i didnt notice a difference at first but if i try to play on my old tv i can feel it.

Thanks for the great explanation. That helped me make my monitor decision.

I was gonna talk some sh#% about this build then I saw the last pic. Great build.

Why a 770 4GB instead of a 780 3GB?

You should've bought a better graphics card, for less than $300 you could have bought a GTX 960 4gb model.

Guns don't kill Rancors. Falling doors kill Rancors.
