Description

Before researching for my new rig, I never heard of NZXT. After seeing the work of art the Phantom 530 is, I redid my room and cleaned my desk just so I would be able to have it on my desk instead of the floor. As for the components, I wanted performance without really overdoing anything. I'm really happy with how it came out, I am definitely a huge fan of NZXT now and I am looking at sleeved cables for the future.

Unfortunately I go away for college and I miss this computer all the time. I have a micro-ATX rig that I bring with me there.

*It is a 770 in the photos but I have a 780 now, the photo is not updated.

You are correct, it shows a 770 in the photos but I replaced it with a 780 but didn't update the photos yet. Sorry about the confusion!

Just a curious thought. Do you still have that GTX 770 in the photo? If so I'm so willing to buy it.

Sorry, sold it as soon as I got the 780 in!

Awwwww that's cool then. Great build though! I was hoping to get that exact model of the 770 because I'm not looking forward to paying $380 bucks for it.

It's clearly a 770 man. IDK if he got the wrong GPU or is a really bad liar.

Yup, it is a 770 in the photo, will get around to updating that photo when I return home for spring break. Not trying to lie!

I think this is awesome for the money, but is the psu enough for any future upgrades such as two way sli? Besides that Awesome build great work, love the lighting!

  • 1 point

No it's not or it will atleast cut it very close. Think you'll have to grab a proper 850W for 780 sli

  • 1 point

It will support it, with about 40W to spare, though adding more drives could change that.

  • 1 point

if it's a 770 then yes, with the 780 i'm pretty sure under full load you're going to have a problem.

Tuniq TX-2 thermal paste is actually less expensive and keeps your CPU a lot cooler then any arctic silver paste. It comes highly recommended on many geek websites over any arctic silver paste. Don't know why there's a big arctic silver craze. Lol. My only suggestion to you out of your build, the rest is perfect and is how I plan to build mine only I'm getting 8GB of ram and a GTX 780ti.

  • 1 point

Ic díamond is viewed as the best thermal paste by Linustechtips and other reputable computer geniuses

  • 1 point

I'm talking price efficiency, not the best of the best. Tuniq TX-2 is around $6.94 for a 3.5g tube. While IC Diamond is around $14.85 for a 4.8g tube and $8 for a 1.5g tube. While IC Diamond might be the best, it's barely got Tuniq TX-2 beat. Price efficiency is what a lot of people look for anyways. But I have to say, Arctic Silver Thermal Paste has a lot of horrible reviews and a lot of them have horrible heat transfer capabilities but people keep buying it. I don't get it lol.

  • 1 point

Actually, the article mx-4 is pretty highly rated along with the other products from article silver. Ncix does a review on the thermal pastes they have in stock. The 1.5 gram ic diamond is $6 not 8.

2600 dollars and no i7???

  • 1 point

Well the price includes everything including the peripherals and screens. I did not feel an i7 was necessary.

I just think you should get one for future-proofing. U might need an i7 eventually

Great build! I'm looking to buy the exact same case, I was wondering what LED lights you used inside the case as I would love to get the same if not similar where I can change the colour and they light up the insides perfectly!

Nice build. Probably should have just upgraded to i7 4770k or 4970k. Just for bragging rights and overkill.

This looks very nice!I approve the case/cpu/ssd and mouse choices especially! Could you explain to someone absolutely unfamiliar in modding how did you install the lighting inside the case? I'm really much into the idea of changing the colour inside the rig when my mood dictates. +1 Overall!

Its a gtx 770 based on the pictures.

Yes, the photos show a 770 but I have a 780 in there now, I did not get a chance to update it.

The 780 handles 1440p great, with BF4 on max minus AA I get over 60 fps without a struggle.
