Description

Before mounting this build I come from a i7 4790K that I bought in 2015, but unfortunately the ASUS B85 motherboard that I had broke. I researched for a while and decided to give the Ryzen line a chance, which is being well evaluated recently.

I occasionally play a few games and work with multitask programs that require a lot of the CPU, but the Ryzen 7 1700 safely locks up all my needs, I still overclocked for 3.7ghz and 1.3 core voltage, the system seems to be pretty stable and without no problem, I also left the RAM memories with 3000mhz. I know some of you are going to ask me because I have not yet upgraded the graphics card, but the answer is quite simple ... I still play in 1080p and for now the GTX 970 can give me quite satisfactory frames in new games, the other reason and the most obvious would be abusive prices, unfortunately I refuse to pay 750 euros for a GTX 1070, the solution will be to wait for the price drop to make a fairer purchase.

Hope you enjoy the build, thank you!

Good build, but you need a custom CPU cooler. 88°C load is too much. Better case fans will also help a lot.

CPU coolers:

  • be quiet! DARK ROCK TF (at auto RPM)
  • Noctua NH-D15S (always at max RPM, it is quiet)

Intake/exhaust logic:

  • 2 x Noctua NF-F12 PWM 55.0 CFM (always at max RPM, they are quiet) - Intake
  • 1 x Cooler Master MasterFan Pro 120 Air Flow 84.5 CFM (at auto RPM) - Exhaust

About the GPU upgrade - wait for a Vega 56 price drop or a Vega 32 (when it comes out).

Cheers.

I am not sure If I will ever live to see the day that vega and possible pascal drop back to their regular prices online, but if you have any retail stores like fry's or microcenter in europe, they often have even radeon cards in stock at proper prices (I apologize if you don't, I am not from europe so I don't know what you have)

I've tried to look for something similar, but I did not find anything like it here in Italy. I do not know what gamers will do if the GPU situation gets worse.

Thank you very much for the feedback! Soon I intend to buy a H7 Quad Lumi, would not like to pass the 3.7ghz. I do not know if I put the correct information, the processor reaches the 88c when put on stress test. When I turn on the PC it is around 40c.

The blue glowing circle next to the RAM. Not water cooled
