Description

This is my second full build and I wanted to design something that was not only aesthetically pleasing, but will allow me to keep up with new AAA titles for the foreseeable future. I decided on the 1070 over the 1080 purely from a price/performance ratio considerations - with the expectation that I will upgrade the GPU in 1-2 cycles.

This was my first true attempt at proper cable management and the H440 was perfect for the job. I stuck to an all black theme after toying with the idea of a black/white build, but decided in the end that I liked the look of the matte black MSI Z170 SLI.

I have yet to overlock the CPU or GPU, but that will be coming soon - as a result I haven't fully benchmarked it. All in all it was a fun experience researching and building, and I look forward to seeing how far I can push it.

Edit 4/1/17 - i5-6600k overclocked to 4.7ghz with 1.35v and temps max at 60 celcius under load.

That is a b-e-a-utiful build that you have there, sir. Nice job with the all black. This is a pretty good and a standard PC for anyone looking to go mid-high range. Nice pickings with all the parts.

Great build! I like that cable management, where did you get that GTX 1070 at that price? Amazing!

I watched /r/buildapcsales and saw a Jet deal pop up. Was able to use SHOP10 for my first purchase and got it without tax. Hell of a deal, but I wish I could have gotten the SC version or FTW. I just couldn't pass on the price though.

Nice and clean build +1 Also a very nice setup, how is the cable management under your desk?

Cable management under desk needs some work, but I bought a cable tray from Ikeda that I plan on installing this week. Though I'm kind of hesitant to drill into the nice wood of the desk.

If it is solid wood, you shouldn't have any problems drilling into it. Just make sure you don't drill to deep. Also make sure your screws aren't to long.

Nice clean looking rig. Well done. Await the OC results. Maybe a wifi/bluetooth mouse and keyboard would help with the desktop cable management?
