Description

Joke my build if u must just dont hate on my stickers lolSo far I'm loving this build the motherboard I bought originally came with a pentium e5700 I overclocked it to 3.83 ghz and used it till I got up the nurve to do the mod for the xeon I ran into quite a bit of trouble when trying to get it to work I then had the idea my be it needs more then 2 sticks (kinda dumb thought but it fied my issue) the broblem was my ram my pc would come on and just would have the alarm beeping and stuck some crappy 2gb random ddr3 ram in there and it downclocked my ram to 1333 mhz and I just decided to downclick it lower then that by about 100mhz and took that stick out and it booted right up currently the xeon x5472 is oc to 3.15ghz I might try to push it further later stuck at 419 fsb. And I also got this gpu r5 240 oem from school it was from a really new Dell pc with a i5 in it it was broke so the gpu got "donated" to me lol it is over clocked aswell core clock is 1000 mhz and the memory is oc to 1250mhz temps are oc I guess idle it's at 53 celcus I could of found some cheaper ram but I just wanted to hurry and get it I didn't care lol got a little lazy lol I have 2 3.5 inch HDDs from some old scrap pcs I have idk why I have them and 1 2.5 5400 rpm 320 gb HDD from my old broke labtop I had no more slots so I thought of a nice inventive way to put it in there I have a old computer schreen I got when I wirked at a call center they got new ones and gave a bunch of one's away I got like 5 different kids I just use this one cause it has speakers and also I had a external dvd drive lying around and the case has no dvd slot so I used some double sided tape from work to just stick it on the other side of the pc but performance wise on this build its not all that bad I can play world of tanks at around 30 fps on medium and FXAA might get a 1050 ti soon wanted a gtx 580 3gb but they jumped up 30 bucks in price other then that noting really special lol let me know what u think

Part Reviews

CPU Cooler

its decent and cheap i accidentally ordered it when i was on break at work so instead of making a big deal about it i just ripped the leds out plain and simple keeps my xeon around 52-74 degrees.

Thermal Compound

just a all time favorite of all builders nice cheap and has a great heat transfer rate.

Memory

cool ram nice, and low profile so no matter what no ram clearance issue. :-)

Case

its a cool looking case and all..... but it feels really cheap no drive bays, case fans kinda suck, the "glass panel" is just plastic cable management is kinda easy to do but other then those other things i like it

Oh dear god I just looked up your CPU... 2007, what have you done to that poor thing. Maybe look into some of the new Pentiums and spend a little extra now so you can upgrade later.

Ok, so you made me do a lot of research just for fun,

Your worry is bottle necks, starting on your processor. Looking up videos here, it shows that with a 750ti it would preform marginally with some room to spare; however, after using a website here to try and even find your card to no avail I used other sources and found the comparison here comparing your r5 240 to a Gt 740. With that information going back to the UserBenchmark site we can conclude that from the Gt 740 compared to the GTX 750ti in the video that it is approximately a +105 performance jump, cited here.

Just that info alone would worry me to upgrade the Graphics card to something rather than a 10 series card. Just for testing purposes I used the website again to see the Gt 740 and 1050ti and ouch... here. This much power from the system you have now would more than less likely bottle neck your system and the upgrade would all be in vain.

I really hoped this helped you in any way. Sometimes it is just best to salvage as much ad you can and start over and I know that can be hard to swallow because I have had to do that with a few pc's. I wish you the best of luck and all that matters, is that you have fun while doing it.

True true it stayed around 50 to 60% usage normally hmm but I also have a 150 mhz overclock if I can figure out this whole over clocking thing I might be able to push it up to 3.3 Ghz maybe even 3 5 if Im really lucky I just gotta get it figured out and that will give me a little more room to grow but maye not a 1050 tI maybe just registered 1050 MAYBE... or a 950 960 I did want a gtx 580 but they went from 50 to 70 and 80 bucks on ebay but naaaa why trash the pc lol its doing its job juuuusssttt find I may not be able to play games at max but it works for me I was playing games at minimum settings getting 15 to 30 fps if I was lucky but heck this is one hell of a upgrade for me lol

At the very least invest in a new mousepad, that one is super beat up lol. As far as the build, I agree, we all have to start somewhere. Great job for a nice little budget build. +1!
