Description

My workstation/gaming rig. Currently working on that freeze blue internal case light and on cable sleeving, you can see that enermax platimax 1350 is not in the rig (but it is in open drawer in one of the pics) right now because i'm in middle of sleeving it's cables. The old CM silent pro 850w is great PSU for this build as alternative. Ram Cooling is actually a two kingston hyperx old school Ram Coolers, but they are not ram coolers as they are there to provide active cooling and airflow on fins/heatsinks that are on upper parts of X99 E WS motherboard, some may ask why - but this rig is working almost 24/7 so additional airflow and cooling is always welcome.

And of course, that CRUCIAL 32GB kit is with ECC function.
More photos of build progress soon.

Nice build. Personally I would have grabbed a single 1tb ssd for the same price of the 3 you have even though the single would be slower then a raid setup. I'm just guessing that you have the two 128gb's in a raid 0 .-.

Well the 2 850 pros are in RAID0 as boot "drive". The third 256 850 pro is scratch disk, on which i will keep those files that i am editing at the moment. The WD Black 4TB is there just to store all my personal data, documents, movies, games, family pictures etc.

Cool rig! Love those RAM coolers!

BTW...You have either a H90 or H110, not the H110i GT as listed in your part list.

why did not you buy a Titan X for the same price, but with more power at the end?

two 980s in many scenarios are more GPU power than single titan X, and yes this was built 2 weeks before titan x came out.

I need support for ECC memory, because this will be runing almost 24/7 and will do rendering most of the time. unfortunately, i could not find the exact ECC memory I put in my rig, but it looks identical as this stuff on permalink. I will change these 980s with my quadro k4000 from time to time.

You can find Memory QVL pdf at Asus website for that particular board. Be careful with memory choice, good luck!
