Build

Arctic Ryzen

by Ducdoc848

Description

So I have had this build of mine done for a while now. Finally getting around throwing it up here on so let me know what you guys think. I did get some of these parts second hand like the monitor I found on Craigslist and keyboard and mouse. I did do a deep clean on the keyboard, pulled all the keys off and did a good wash. So happy with this build, being a noob in the PC building I did a ton of research and watched a bunch of Youtube vids from some good peeps, Pauls Hardware and Bitwit, Gamers Nexus, Actually HardCore Overclocking, Jaystwocents.

I do plan on doing a few little upgrades in the future, maybe some sleeved cables. I will need some more storage as well but as of yet I am doing ok. Also I want to throw in another 16gb of memory to get the most out of the board. For some reason I can't get the memory to run at rated speeds without getting blue screens of death. I Put up a screen shot of my best Cinebench score of 1782 I dialed things back some from that but I do have a stable over clock on the CPU of 4.0Ghz.

I do have a few things I would complain about. First I think everyone can agree Win10 is well yeah I don't think I need to say more on that

Second I loved working in this case super easy to install everything, I do kinda hate one thing and that is the front panel. Being wired in without being able take it off to clean the front mesh kinda bugs me. Also I love this tempered glass panel but unlike the black version of this case I just wish that this glass case had some tint on it. It is a must to turn off the RGB lights when gaming at night. Well guys let me know what you think.

Peace bro's

Have you updated your motherboard's BIOS? I was able to recently get my memory at 2933 up to the rated 3000 after updating. First gen Ryzen boards are picky with memory, but stability updates help.

I'd recommend this as well. After updating my B350 Bazooka's BIOS I was able to get mine from 2666 to 3200.

Yeah Mobo is up to date, this memory kit is a newer kit and with this mobo coming out with the first gen stuff i dont know if that has anything to do with it but it is running stable at 3400Mhz I do want to get it to run stable at the rated speeds of the kit, but I do plan on throwing in 2 more sticks in and will prob do the fine tweaking when that time comes

Your mobo is more expensive than the CPU...:D
Nice ryzen build! I would love to see a pic with rgb on.

Yeah i didnt pay that for the MOBO, I actually got it on a killer sale for like $200 if I remember correctly. I will be updating some more pics here soon so let me know what you think

Is your ram on an XMP profile? I couldn’t tell you why but I’ve heard xmp profiles don’t exactly work

Ducdoc848 submitter 1 Build 1 point 3 months ago

Yeah I tired XMP first and It tried to run at rated speeds of 3600Mhz but I would get crashes. Dialed down to 3400Mhz and all good. I do want to go in and manually do the timings.
