Description

Budget Build for and named after DJ and producer Rogue Kid, dedicated to audio production and 1080p gaming, using 100% used parts (except cables & CPU fan), some of which coming from my Coconut Lime after upgrading to Coconut Lime 2.1 others bought 2nd hand.

Was going for an octa-core CPU, but got a great deal on the FX-6350 and the MSI 970 Gaming. Being AMDs most powerful hexa-core it provides enough performance to make an appropriately adaquate match with the GTX 970. Replaced the stock cooler to reduce heat and noise level. Same goes for the stock fan of the Scythe Shuriken. This is still just a temporary solution until addition of an AIO water cooler (most likely a H50 / H55 / H60).

edit:
Corsair Hydro H55 added.

Sensational build, absolutely in love with it. When i build a PC for myself I want it to look like this. Great job man!

philphaser submitter 12 Builds 1 point 27 months ago

danieltoruno 1 Build 2 points 27 months ago

philphaser submitter 12 Builds 1 point 27 months ago

Well, thank you!

TechTested 7 Builds 2 points 27 months ago

fantastic cable management. Very clean and balanced build. I even like the the two accent colors (whether or not it was intentional).

philphaser submitter 12 Builds 1 point 27 months ago

It was. And thanks. ; )

Echo1 2 points 27 months ago

Sssshhhh, his CPU cooler says "Be quiet", so we cant talk.

philphaser submitter 12 Builds 0 points 27 months ago

Damn right! : )

Whis 2 points 27 months ago

rhali8 2 Builds 2 points 27 months ago

Congrats on getting featured!

+1

philphaser submitter 12 Builds 1 point 27 months ago

Thx! Pretty surprising to be honest...

rhali8 2 Builds 1 point 27 months ago

The cleanness and the professional pictures was probably the reason. :D

philphaser submitter 12 Builds 1 point 27 months ago

Like I said:
"It's just good photographs, not a build that great."
But i won't complain. :P

annaheim 2 points 27 months ago

This is a really clean build. Nice and very well worked on.

philphaser submitter 12 Builds 1 point 27 months ago

Thank you very much!

ctkeat 1 Build 2 points 27 months ago

Dat cable management doe... Wow! Amazing build! +1 for sure :)

ctkeat 1 Build 1 point 27 months ago

I think this might be the right I/O shield... and it ships from Germany!

philphaser submitter 12 Builds 1 point 27 months ago

ty!!!

Vinnie165 2 points 27 months ago

i love the splashes of red you got going on in the build. Nice job!!!

philphaser submitter 12 Builds 1 point 27 months ago

Much appreciated!

syntaxerrur 22 Builds 2 points 27 months ago

I'm personally not a fan of the filter that you used but the build itself is super clean. +1

philphaser submitter 12 Builds 1 point 27 months ago

Not a filter. My personal PS adjustments.

SquareOreo 1 point 27 months ago

This looks so damn amazing!!

What camera did you use?

philphaser submitter 12 Builds 1 point 27 months ago

Canon 60d + Canon 50mm 1.8

SquareOreo 2 points 27 months ago

This build better get featured

philphaser submitter 12 Builds 1 point 27 months ago

I don't think that would be appropriate. It' just good photographs, not a build that great.

SquareOreo 3 points 27 months ago

CALLED IT!!

Mollevik 1 Build 1 point 27 months ago

lol

philphaser submitter 12 Builds 1 point 27 months ago

hahaha...good one, mate! =D

piemancoder 1 point 27 months ago

All builds are great :-)

Octothorpe 2 Builds 1 point 27 months ago

Hide those two sata cables, and this has perfect cable management. Very nice work!

philphaser submitter 12 Builds 4 points 27 months ago

I actually got those red cables to go along with the red details of mainboard and therefore want them to be visible. : )

Badbart4 1 point 27 months ago

Would this be able to run dayz sa and arms 3 smoothly?

tiny_voices 2 points 27 months ago

DayZ might be rougher as it doesn't like AMD CPUs, but it should still run it well. Definitely not max settings though.

Badbart4 1 point 27 months ago

Would it be possible to change the AMD to an intel i5 4690k and keep everything else the same?

philphaser submitter 12 Builds 1 point 27 months ago

No, not the mainboard. ; ) Otherwise yes. CPU & Board could be replaced with i5 4570 & MSI z97 Gaming. 4690k & MSI z97 Gaming would be a pretty decent upgrade.

Badbart4 1 point 27 months ago

Sorry to go off topic from your posted build, but could you take a look at mine and tell me what you think? http://pcpartpicker.com/p/DxyzTW

philphaser submitter 12 Builds 1 point 27 months ago

Looks like a nice, well-balanced semi-budget build. You might want to change to a more powerful CPU a bit down the road, but i don't see any major flaws there. If you can afford it you could pick up a better PSU which gives you the option to go crossfire eventually.

tiny_voices 1 point 27 months ago

Nope, you would need a new motherboard and likely a new install of Windows.

philphaser submitter 12 Builds 1 point 27 months ago

These build is designed to run almost everything in 1080p with high details.

hdiraddo 1 point 27 months ago

U forgot your i/o shield.

philphaser submitter 12 Builds 2 points 27 months ago

Unfortunately the board came without the shield. Those are the little flaws you have to live with, when buying used parts for the according prices.

hdiraddo 1 point 27 months ago

ok

JPCRacing24 2 Builds 1 point 27 months ago

Try putting your searching for your motherboard I/0 shield on ebay. Normally you can find odd and end stuff on there. It would suck for your mobo to die due to static electricity. Good looking build and excellent cable management! +1 from me :)

philphaser submitter 12 Builds 2 points 27 months ago

I already do...

Atron 1 Build 1 point 27 months ago

Surprised at the green GPU with red mobo but a very clean build

philphaser submitter 12 Builds 1 point 27 months ago

GPU and PSU. ; ) Red & green are known to go along very well with each other. It's the classic anaglyph-3D-combination. I'm a graphic designer and used that color scheme for quite a few times. : )

Atron 1 Build 1 point 27 months ago

Personally not a fan but then again its not my build

philphaser submitter 12 Builds 1 point 27 months ago

Can't argue about taste...

cwuzzell 1 point 27 months ago

Hey, this looks a lot like the case was in the LinusTechTips budget build! It has that same weird metal thing over the PCI covers and everything. The only thing that really looks different is that there's no filtered front intake.

Mollevik 1 Build 1 point 27 months ago

A cheap upgrade for the future would be a couple of Titan Xs.

Also +1

philphaser submitter 12 Builds 1 point 27 months ago

You think three or four will be enough?! ; )

Mollevik 1 Build 1 point 27 months ago

maybe... it all depends on what you will be playing. 4 should be enough to play minesweeper

Mollevik 1 Build 1 point 27 months ago

no, but seriously i have one and it is a beast

PizzaHutBuilds 1 Build 1 point 27 months ago

IO shield ??

philphaser submitter 12 Builds 1 point 27 months ago

Searching for one. Was missing with the 2nd hand mobo.

0nard00 2 Builds 1 point 27 months ago

Hi, Love the build by the way!

I was just wondering, I had an FX-6300 and matched it with a 970. But, I was having a hard time for it to stabilize the whole system. Are they that different? I'm even running a 630W PSU Bronze rated. What do you think might have caused that issue?

philphaser submitter 12 Builds 2 points 27 months ago

Drivers? Bios Version? MoBo? PSU (tier category)? There are a lot of possible reasons.

0nard00 2 Builds 2 points 27 months ago

It was probably the PSU, I was told it wasn't part of any Tier. That's why I've been looking into getting a 650W EVGA Modular PSU.

Anyway, really love the build. making me want to change up my case and PSU sooner than later. hahaha.

philphaser submitter 12 Builds 1 point 27 months ago

ShadowGaming93 1 point 27 months ago

DJ ALIAS!?!?!

DO YOU MEAN THE MONSTERCAT ROGUE!?!?!?!?!

philphaser submitter 12 Builds 1 point 27 months ago

No, i mean the Rogue Kid. ; )

joelikespcs 1 point 11 months ago

philphaser submitter 12 Builds 1 point 11 months ago

Actually never used it. Would have to ask the owner. ; )

joelikespcs 1 point 11 months ago

please do

And sadly it went off... :( Replaced by a Nintendo.

philphaser submitter 12 Builds 2 points 27 months ago

Which truly does deserve featured spot. : )

…and it didn't even cost me what's in the list, since those are original/factory prices and not the used part prices i paid. ; )
