Description

First PC ever built, it was really fun ! Built this PC with upgrade in mind. That why i chose this motherboard (Gigabyte - GA-B250M-DS3H ) with 4 slots of RAM, compatible with 6-7 generation Intel processor an the M.2 slot was a must !

I used a lot of parts I already had in other computer to save money, my goal was to built a PC for less then 600$ CAD. The finale price came to 545.15$ CAD (Without a gaming monitor)

My goal with this PC was that I be able to game at World of Warcraft 1080p 80-100 fps out in the world and sweet 60fps in raids/BGs/Donjons.

My PC nailed it ! =)

Near future upgrade in mind :

1- First upgrade will be the processor for an i5-7600 2- Secondly ill buy a another 8Go kit a Kingston fury DDR4 to have 16Go of ram 3- Change my GTX 780 for a 1060 6Go or more (depending on market and release).

If you have any advice for upgrade or changing parts PLZ comment ! =)

Sorry for my English, i am a French Canadian ! =)

Not sure if I would jump to a 1060 6gb. It's an upgrade but not that big of a jump to justify paying $300 USD And anything higher than a 1060 6gb would require a better cpu (i3 or i5) in order to fully utilize the gpu. So I would go to a i5 7600 then up your gpu to a 1070 or higher.

Nice build. Looks okay, Cable management isn't bad. +1

A few things about upgrading tho. The 7400k is not a thing, I think you meant the 7400 or the 7600k. But either way I would not "upgrading" to either since it will provide minimal increase. If you do upgrade while staying on the same platform then go for a 7700 or 7700k. As far as ram the prices are insane. I advise holding onto the 780 until the 11 series GPUs from nVidia. And it really isn't a bad card. If I remember correctly it is between about the performance of a 1060 3gb anyway.

Non-K Intel CPUs are locked and not overclockable, even with a motherboard that can overclock. Just get the K version for literally 7 dollars more, unless you want Coffee Lake.

If he wants to piecemeal upgrade that would be the only way to do it. He would have to do a whole other build to move to 8th gen, and right now 7th gen i5 and i7 cpus have been going on sale for decent prices. I won't argue that the newer cpus aren't a better deal for the money (they are clearly a better deal), but it he wants to keep his mobo that's the only way to go.
