Mainly using for gaming with some photo editing and video editing on the side. Will eventually set up with a Linux VM so I can remote into for dev work.
This is a feature quality build right here. +1
I agree, +1.
Super Clean Build! Awesome job man, but why the 6850k? I thought the only difference between that and the 6800k is PCIE lanes, and you only have one graphics card. Nevertheless, one of my easiest +1's ever.
I believe the 6850k can overclock slightly higher, for those wanting to milk all the power they can.
It was mostly because I got a good deal on it haha. Planning on adding 2 NVMe drives since the board supports it and I think the 6800K can't run 2 at full speed. Don't remember though.
No fair. Now my 460X RGB build will look crap lol. Thanks for setting the standards high.
mmmmmm.... friend drools over pc
This is a breathtaking build. Stunning photos as well, I love it!
Spectacular, and classy pictures too. A feature build for sure! +25 (if I could...)
WOW! i love it! 1+! and that ram! its amazing! and you even bought a 6850k for future sli updates i guess?
Haha not really, I just got a really good deal on it. Planning on putting in 2 NVMe SSDs since the board supports it and I think the 6800K can't run 2 at full speed. Don't quote me on that though.
you are right
you are right!
water cooled gpu?
how has this mobo been for you so far? i want this board with same cpu with a 1080 tomrow but bad talk on x99 chipsets this the only borad seeming good so far past 3 days some what ?
It's been pretty good, I have no major complaints. I'm only moderately overclocking the CPU/GPU and it's handled it fine.
Memory support was kind of a pain though, the XMP profiles didn't work for 2 sets of corsair before I got the one I'm using.
Their easy CPU installation tool also is the dumbest gimmick imo. It made it harder for me than any other board and you have to use it I think.
But overall solid performer with lots of fan headers (there's a fan extension hub that adds 4 or 3 more), thunderbolt card (I actually needed this), and 2 NVMe slots is going to be nice once I get my 960 Pros.
If you don't need thunderbolt or 2 NVMe slots, maybe look into the non deluxe. It's quite a bit less expensive and will perform the same more or less.
Im doing heavy gameing with streaming want best results as possible and 4k once i can afford the monitor there 3 new x99 this on the no deluxe and the strix those the 3 i have to choose n seeing reviews say this ome is good strix ia frying a cpu in 4 or 5 months i been reading so idk
What did u do with the 3 case fans you bought i can only see one at the back?
How is this case and power supply? Working on my first build right now and was wondering about these parts
OMG THAT THING IS DOPE.
Beautiful and futuristic looking build. Great job with the watercooling!!
Would it just be impossible to watercool sli in this case? I wanna put a loop in mine but i have 2 gpus. Great Build!
How do you like the Heatkiller GPU block? I've only had EK blocks but thinking about this one...
dam beautiful picts !
Nice build +1. Question for you have you gotten the Corsair RAM to stop flashing on your board? I'm not sure if its just me or a known issue on X-99 boards.
Now that's a good looking pc.
This is CLEAN
Yea I thought about running it as an intake but didn't have a filter at the time. Maybe the next time I flush.
And yup the corsair link doesn't work on X99 which is really annoying.
I needed it for my ball valve since it didn't have G1/4 on one end. Its hidden in the back for draining on a 90 degree rotary fitting to swing in and out
