Description

I mainly use this build for gaming, and pretty much nothing else. It's worked even better than expected, and the only issues I had were installing the network drivers. Still, even that was pretty easy once I figured out how. I'm planning on upgrading to 16 GB of RAM later too. Also, the prices are roughly what I paid for at the time, since I can't remember the exact prices. I get 120 FPS while playing heavy modded Minecraft as a test. Not bad I'd say.

EDIT: It's been almost 2 weeks, and I recently got back into Elder Scrolls 3: Morrowind. I'm using a heavy mod pack that overhauls all the textures and animations in the game, making it look like the latest Elder Scrolls game. Still getting 100-120 FPS. Still under average temperature.

EDIT 2: It's been a long time since I've updated this, and I've drastically increased my game library. I'm proud to say I can now consider myself a PC gamer lol.

OblivionXBA 4 Builds 4 points 38 months ago

lol I noticed that too! Conductive materials FTW

It was only on the table for about 25 minutes. I touched the case regularly to get rid of any static. The only times I have static issues in my house is in winter.

and is also covering the psu

I'm not worried about static much at the moment. It's all working fine, and below average temperature. I haven't seen any static around here since I was 7 lol. That was when I used to run around on the carpet a lot XD

Please tell me you cleaned up those cables. I was gonna make a Drake joke, but the name was enough :P

Ravenhelm submitter 2 Builds 1 point 38 months ago

Lol. I did clean the cables up, don't worry. That picture was while I was building it.

Ok good.

The fps of Minecraft I think really only depends on the power of the cpu unless you're using shaders or a very high resolution texture pack.

Ravenhelm submitter 2 Builds 1 point 38 months ago

My old laptop got 15 fps on low setting, so I'm happy if it gets over 40 on this one lol.

But can it run Mine..? Oh, wait...

Nice build! You managed to get slightly better performance out of your build than I got out of mine (admittedly, I went with a Hitachi 2TB drive and a 120GB Samsung 840 Evo for my drives, and wound up paying way more for my graphics card than I should have).

Thanks! In retrospect, I should have gone with a Z97 motherboard and the i5 4590K if I wanted to overclock, but it works just fine anyway :)

CaptainSiscold 1 Build 1 point 38 months ago

Yeah, I made the same mistake...ah well, at least now when I upgrade, I know to get an i5-7560k and a Z117 (?) motherboard :P

Ravenhelm submitter 2 Builds 1 point 38 months ago

Same.

Skylord 1 point 26 months ago

Nice looking build!

+1

Ravenhelm submitter 2 Builds 1 point 26 months ago

Thanks =)

Sorry about the lack of pictures, I didn't have the foresight to make pictures of it when I was building it lol. I know what I'll do next time, I guess.

Skylord 1 point 26 months ago

Yeah :)
