Still a work in progress but a decent first build nonetheless. Feedback is appreciated.
Very nice! Can you give us some gaming fps results? Seen so many good things said about the FX-8350 I am thinking about building one just because of the savings.
i get 60 and above on my rig, but i also have a 290x. its a mix of cpu, gpu, and ram that will get you nice fps' depending on the types of games you play. if you have time to save still, hold out for zen. The other comment here about it not being good, seems like he paired it with a 270 which is a lower end card. I play fallout 4 on ultra and get about 55 to 65 fps.
I will post some benchmarks soon.
I recommend you don't. I had a fx 8350 for 3 years and while they are good value for money, now you can buy a good i5 for roughly the same price, I upgraded mainly because now there are alot of games out there that just cant run well with an fx 8350, there OK in budget builds but if your looking to use anything more than an r9 270 your going to be a bit disappointed, alot of games I like to play suffered from stuttering due to the fx 8350, GTA5, The witcher, Fallout4 to name a few. Because of this I upgraded to an i5 6600k ,sure its about £50-100 more but it performs damn well in all modern games, and you can overclock it to perform like an i7 with a moderately small over-clock. Also an i5 will be much much better for the future as proven by intels other cpu's, they age very well. So I recommend you either get an i5 like the 6500 or wait and see what amd's zen cpu's bring to the table latter this year.
Hey, im looking forward to build same system (8350 + 390) , what is your experience with this build?
What fps you get in csgo?
Ill check it out and get you the fps scores.
What's with that weird placing of that fan.
great job on your build, though i wish that bottom fan was red to keep the flow going :P
Thanks, and that fan is just a stand in. Ill replace it soon. My next step is some better ram.
+1! Really cool build man, I like the colors. Also, how's that CPU cooler? I haven't seen it in many builds, but it looks cool! And how's the 390 treating you? I'm planning on upgrading to one soon :)
The v8 is comparable to the higher end noctua air coolers. It sits pretty at an overclock of 4.6 ghz. If you want i can run a benchmark and give you the temps under load.
