Description

After dreaming and wanting a decent pc for years it finally has happened and i love it. I got my first pc when i was 10. It was a standard dell all in one desktop perfect for flash games and watching youtube which was all i did back then. by the time i was 12 i started to want to play games other than web browser flash games. i saved and made a deal with my grandparents to split the cost of a laptop 50/50. finally got a used alienware m15x from the local pawnshop and it worked amazing for what i needed for the past 3 1/2 years. Now that im 16 and started 3d modeling and rendering alot it wasnt cutting it. Pulled the trigger with the help of my grandparents again splitting it 50/50 with me. I have been gathering parts since black friday and its finally done functionally but not visually. I chose ryzen because of the core count for the cost and it was unlocked. I have it stable at 4ghz and it can run anything i throw at it. Evga was having a flash sale on 1080's even though i planned for a 1070 i opted out of a ssd and went for a 1080. For storage i pulled the 1tb hard drive out of my laptop and ordered a new one to pair with it. A friend who had an extra ssd he was selling let me try it out to see if i wanted to buy it but i just didnt feel like it made that big of a difference. I loved the hyper beast design on the case and play csgo pretty often and since it said the creator of the hyper beast skins name on the plate (brock hofer) and mine is brock too i had to get it. Runs any game med-high setting 100+ frames Still need to get some custom cables and some painting to be done also ordering some vinyl sheets of Brock Hofer's other pieces to use on the backplate of my 1080 and the 2.5 drive.

Part Reviews

CPU

Could not have asked for more at the price. With my 240 clc I have a stable oc at 4.0ghz and it will take anything I throw at it

CPU Cooler

Awesome clc. Keeps my CPU at 27c idle and and maxes at 53c after stress testing for a few hours. Having issues with the software and a having the software not recognize it's plugged in but other than that it's perfect

Memory

Ram is ram and I got this set for a really good deal and so far it's been amazing

Video Card

Awesome card I got on sale. Handles everything I can think of but does have some thermal issues. When I received the card the fans were unplugged. Plugged them in and it stays around 65c max settings at 1440p on most games but it gets to around 75-85c and starts throttling at 2k resolution even with a very aggressive fan curve that hits 100% at 70c. Thinking of redoing the stock thermal paste but don't know if that will help

Monitor

Amazing monitor for the price. Stand is a little flimsy but not too noticeable.

If you get a decent SSD it will make a pretty big difference. Boot up time with my samsung 850 evo is about 8 seconds for reference. Getting an M.2 drive makes it even faster. And if you're not looking to break the bank you can always get a small SSD, put the OS and common applications on it and keep everything else on a HDD.

Nice build!

If i get an ssd im going 1tb or larger. I tried a 850 evo and boot times were only 6 seconds faster and sure its nice but i didn't want to spend that much for a few seconds faster.

Is this an outside computer? Do you have one for indoor use as well?

I wish I had the money to pull that off. Just took it out side for some pics cause the room was dirty and I thought it would look a little better/different than the rest

Have you ever thought of using a TV instead of a monitor? They’re cheaper!

That's what I did before I got my monitor but I really wanted higher resolution and better refresh rate so I switched over to monitors

The logos are rgb and there suppost to be a tealish/blue color but on pictures it looks white. I kinda like what sunney said "Eater of World's".
