Description

As my old PC became 10 years old, I decided, to build a new one. Not that the "old" PC didn't work anymore: it was an Inter Core 2 Quad Q6600 with 6 GB RAM, a Geforce GTX 560 graphics card, a 250 gb SSD an a 3 x 500 gb hdd RAID5, but I wanted to have an new one, so that i can play actual games (especialy action RPG or RTS) without problems in 4K and do 3D-modelling and animation even faster. Because this maschine should be alive for the next 10 years, I decidet to put nearly the best items in I could get for today. Withe the budget I had no limit. And i think, mostly I found the best pices.

I hope to be future proof for the next few years with this power maschine!

At last: I beg your pardon for my bad english, but i'm from Germany, so thats not my native language.

Part Reviews

CPU

An fast CPU with it's 8 physical (or 16 virtual) cores and at 3.6 GHz. I overclocked it with 4.0 GHz without problems. I hope I can calculate my chess games even faster now ;P . Also price is more tha acceptable for that power. 1 point down: It has only 26 PCI lanes.

CPU Cooler

A monster of a cooler and there are in particular 2 things: 1. it holds the CPU very cool; 2, it is very, very, very silent - I can't hear it;

Motherboard

What should I say: It's an MSI!!!

Memory

fast and elegant memory sticks, works proper.

Storage

This is the fastest SSD I ever had. It's incredible, how fast my windows starts now!

Storage

super fast SSD! I use it especialy, to install the tons of games fom Steam here - and it's worth it.

Storage

normal hdd for normal data storage. I use 3 pices within an RAID5 and it works OK.

Video Card

It's an dream maschine! And - WOW - it has 11 GB of graphics RAM. I use it for 4K gaming and it runs amazing! First I tryed it with "Assesines Creed : Origines" @ 4K and i'm excited!

Case

This is an giant tower with a lot of space inside and great abilities for cabel management.

Power Supply

enough power to provide all part inside the pc. And all cables you need are available.

Keyboard

An amazing keyboard! I never had THIS feeling when typing!!! Every key can be seperatly enlighted with one of 16 million colores and ther are only shining the signs on the key, nothing more. Furthermore you have 9 free programable gaming keys,4 macro keys, several media keys and a power level control wheel. Who needs more???

Mouse

phantastic gaming mouse. It has several buttons that can be programmed with the Logitech GaminApp.

Other

Control your games and your whole pc with your eyes - isn't it cracy!!! ... and since the Windows Fall Creators Update last month you can use it with "Windows Hello" to logon to your pc.

Great Build!

How is the thermals working out for you? Does Noctua NH-D15 hold out well with that 7820x?

KingSB submitter 1 Build 1 point 14 months ago

The NH-15D does a great job: currently on idle the CPU is at 29 °C, on Gaming (High end at 4K) it come sto 48°C.

PerfectionPersonified 1 point 14 months ago

That's actually a very decent temperature. Have you tried overclocking your CPU yet?

KingSB submitter 1 Build 1 point 14 months ago

I actually overclocked the CPU to 4.0 GHz (normal is 3.6). Because of your question I made a tzest using CPU-Z stress test and the CPU runs with 70 °C.

Does the Video Card fit in the motherboard? I am interested in that motherboard for my own build, but have read reviews that the GTX 1080 ti doesn't fit.
