Description

Version 2 of my first gaming pc I started in May this year, all I can say is that it has come quite a long way from where I started. For starters, I have actually gone through a couple phases with this pc and have re-cabled it 4 times lol. First time when I first built it, second when I upgraded to my 980ti's and got an evga 1050w, then when I got my 1000w p2 since evga's individually sleeved cable set is only compatible with g2/p2/t2 psu models, and lastly when I received my red sleeved psu cable set today. At the moment I still only use this pc for gaming and everyday stuff, but im saving up to get sony vegas pro so I can start doing some video editing and such(not that i cant afford it), but im not about to go spend some $800 after spending all this on the rig. As you can see I like fast things, whether its cars or computers, and I love the red and black color scheme, even if it is overused. Is this pc overkill? Yes. Do I care? No. I have plenty of funds and I spend it how I like, though I will be upgrading to a 4K monitor in the near future to better utilize my gpus. Also alot of extra money was spent just so I could make this computer look as red and black and clean as possible. Im a perfectionist when it comes to this (explains why basically all my components and peripherals are evga and corsair), and I think I did a pretty good job! I will also be upgrading to a custom water cooled loop in the future and will be replacing my gpu heat-sinks with waterblocks. Besides that for the most part she is complete and will be able to kill games for many years to come. Please leave your comments, I love hearing what everyone thinks and I want to hear any suggestions and constructive criticism you guys have. Enjoy!

Epic PC with 32 GB Ram, two 980Ti's and an i7 fourth gen paired with: a 5ms response 1080p monitor. Priorities FTW

MrMoose88 submitter 5 Builds 1 point 22 months ago

Thank you, Yeah for $180 I really love this monitor, 27" 1080p and it gets the job done (=

thedavexx 4 points 22 months ago

can it run mine craft ?

Eltech 15 Builds 3 points 22 months ago

It looks so beautiful and I love the colors... Your sexy car and sexy computer should be partners... like Batman and Robin!

Amazing update on your computer here. You deserved the feature spotlight! I love it so much! And that car... yummy.

  • Forgive me... now I must go confess my sins. * blushes *
MrMoose88 submitter 5 Builds 3 points 22 months ago

Haha thank you XD, I have put about as much money into my car as I have my pc. They are my babies and I stare at them more than any woman. Its a shame my favorite hobbies are so expensive haha. I appreciate the awesome comment dude!

Eltech 15 Builds 1 point 22 months ago

You are most welcome. And oh? I cannot put that much investments into a car and pc. Though I'm very attached to my 2008, white Milan by now. More of, what can I afford in my situation. So that's amazing on what you have here.

And I'm actually a woman myself but no worries. I like attractive cars and computers too. So you have my one for certain. :)

MrMoose88 submitter 5 Builds 2 points 22 months ago

oh, well im sorry about that. But yeah its like an obsession of mine lol XD, I appreciate the input (=

Eltech 15 Builds 1 point 22 months ago

Hey, it's all good! And again, you are most welcome. :)

ewhac 1 Build 2 points 22 months ago

Care to comment on the multicolored lights under the desk?

MrMoose88 submitter 5 Builds 3 points 22 months ago

haha, its a led light bar I won at dave n' busters for 1800 tickets, I just mounted it under my desk for cool nighttime underglow effects even, it does glow red, along with green and blue

TechyinAZ 13 Builds 2 points 22 months ago

That build is so pretty!! One of the best I've seen (besides fully custom loops of course). :D

That build would be da bomb if you had a Haswell E CPU and LED mobo.

MrMoose88 submitter 5 Builds 1 point 22 months ago

thank you, I put a lot of hard work into this build, and yeah I hope to do a custom loop on this build in the near future. I might change to the 4790K, but the 4820K still is great

Battlefield 2 points 22 months ago

Great build. And yeah going liquid cooled would be a great idea. btw, that white EVGA SLI piece could be spray painted red. I've seen it done many times on this site.

MrMoose88 submitter 5 Builds 1 point 22 months ago

Thank you, doing a custom loop with red tubes would make a great finishing touch to the build, and thanks for the input, that is actually a good idea, and I know i have red spray paint

TheMeezak 1 Build 2 points 22 months ago

Wow, completely amazing looking build. I like the shots of the pc by your sweet car and the flowers! xD

MrMoose88 submitter 5 Builds 1 point 22 months ago

thank you, I had to take the opportunity since I just washed my car and it was such a nice day out with the fall colors =D

Red and black theme, great parts, i really like this computer all the way around.

MrMoose88 submitter 5 Builds 2 points 22 months ago

thank you, I appreciate the complements after all the hard work I put into it (=

ncarter13 2 Builds 2 points 22 months ago

pretty awesome build. I lost it on the pic behind the flower pots. Its like your pc was "hiding" or something lol

MrMoose88 submitter 5 Builds 1 point 22 months ago

haha, im not sure what i was trying to do with those outdoor pics..... but I think they turned out well. Thanks for the complements I appreciate it (=

Vergere 7 Builds 2 points 22 months ago

I love overkill.

MrMoose88 submitter 5 Builds 1 point 22 months ago

There is just something so nice about having way more than you need just because you want to (=

SpikzeMC 2 points 22 months ago

Weak, underpowered PC. I bet it can't even OPEN Minesweeper! Ha! lol jk, BEAUTIFUL build, +1! :D

MrMoose88 submitter 5 Builds 1 point 22 months ago

When I said "kill all games", I should have changed it to all games except minesweeper lol, thank you I appreciate it (=

SpikzeMC 2 points 22 months ago

Haha! Yeah, that woulda been funny! And NP, if anything I should be thanking you for such awesomeness! xD

MrMoose88 submitter 5 Builds 1 point 22 months ago

haha no problem!

jeffreymays44 5 Builds 2 points 22 months ago

Very Nice looking build, love the scheme and components you've choosin! congrats on feature build, this pc has one up'ed oh sorry 2 up'ed my first build where I used a corsair 450d case , evga gtx 970, ect ect and I am very happy with my build so you must be stoked!

MrMoose88 submitter 5 Builds 1 point 22 months ago

thank you, I do really love the pc i have created, but you should check out my previous version of this build on my profile, its alot like yours now. Im sure your comp still kicks ***

bmccarthy8989 7 Builds 2 points 22 months ago

Build looks great, I love the attention to detail. I need to sell/part my White Widow build so I can do a 980ti build! +1 Really great job. Also, have you considered doing a monthly adobe membership and using adobe premiere/after effects instead of Sony Vegas?

MrMoose88 submitter 5 Builds 1 point 22 months ago

Thank you, attention to detail is exactly why my build got so expensive lol, but it was worth it. No, I prefer just buying it over doing a month to month setup, but thanks for the input on it!

bmccarthy8989 7 Builds 1 point 22 months ago

attention to detail is exactly why my build got so expensive lol

I completely understand, you get to a point where you are like, eh whats another $30, and another $30, $100, $300, ****! haha

Oh and thanks for a comment, I'd have to say the same about yours. How was the cable management on the reverse side of that case? I've always wanted to build in one of those cases.

MrMoose88 submitter 5 Builds 1 point 22 months ago

Cable management is tough in this case if you dont want any cables being seen throught the holes in the bottom of the back of the case by the ssd slots. The hardest part is getting the back panel back on the case lol

MrMoose88 submitter 5 Builds 1 point 22 months ago

I just checked out your white widow build, gotta say that pc is a work of art!

Treewithahat 1 Build 2 points 22 months ago

RIP mortgage.

MrMoose88 submitter 5 Builds 1 point 22 months ago

I dont own the house lol, my parents do

bsmods 15 Builds 2 points 22 months ago

Nice build! Is that just do a little detail work on the cables and maybe stuff like the orentaiton of the fans...(One of those things I guess I see now)

Fantastic!

MrMoose88 submitter 5 Builds 2 points 22 months ago

Thank you, I'll make the cables better with combs, as for the fans, I just need to change my radiator fans from intake to exhaust

bmccarthy8989 7 Builds 1 point 22 months ago

I'm not sure if you did it or not yet, but your fan orientation looks right. Front: intake, bottom: intake, Rear: exhaust, Top Rad: exhaust. Total: 4 intake, 3 exhaust, positive air pressure. That is a good thermal design. Especially with your two open air 980Ti's.

MrMoose88 submitter 5 Builds 1 point 22 months ago

yep thats how its setup

RogueRenegade 2 points 22 months ago

just an amazing build friend!

if only I had the wallet that you do haha

and we both know we ant an R34 to call our own ;)

MrMoose88 submitter 5 Builds 1 point 22 months ago

thank you, hell yeah who doesnt want a sexy r34!

Hushbuild 2 Builds 2 points 22 months ago

floridaboz 4 Builds 2 points 22 months ago

Nice set up and all, but people look at picture 21, that is a nice car

MrMoose88 submitter 5 Builds 2 points 22 months ago

Thank you, I put alot of work into the stuff I love, im glad to see people appreciate it (=

Pigtastic 1 Build 1 point 22 months ago

A 4820K? Call me stupid, bit i've never heard of such a processor! Did you try to have as many parts from EVGA as you could in this build? Super sexy and rock solid build!

MrMoose88 submitter 5 Builds 2 points 22 months ago

Yeah, overall the 4790K is a better cpu, but I decided to go with the 4820K , even though my friends said I was silly for not getting the 4790 the 4820 is still a kickass cpu

st0necoldd 1 Build 1 point 22 months ago

4820k>4790k

MiguelXx3D 1 point 22 months ago

Well, it IS an Older build and the 4820K was awesome and it is still awesome.

st0necoldd 1 Build 1 point 22 months ago

....

nsyochum 2 Builds 1 point 22 months ago

Why didn't you go overkill with the CPU cooler, storage, or SSD?

MrMoose88 submitter 5 Builds 1 point 22 months ago

I think my cpu cooler is pretty high end... Also 4tb of storage @7200rpm and an 850pro as the bootdrive is pretty good. But hey, maybe you have a better setup in mind.

nsyochum 2 Builds 1 point 22 months ago

I was thinking something like a custom loop or an H110i GTX :) as far as storage, something along the lines of an NVMe boot drive with SSD mass storage :P

MrMoose88 submitter 5 Builds 2 points 22 months ago

ahh I see, yeah that would be alot faster and more badass, I got the H105 for the red ring on the water block, plus it has the thickest radiator

nsyochum 2 Builds 1 point 22 months ago

Don't get me wrong, your machine is hella badass I ain't hatin' :P

MrMoose88 submitter 5 Builds 1 point 22 months ago

oh dont worry I wasnt thinking you were

kumaizard 1 Build 1 point 22 months ago

Great looking machine. Specs are amazing. Hats off to a master builder. I bet she sings like an angel :D

MrMoose88 submitter 5 Builds 2 points 22 months ago

Haha thank you, oh she does sing (; lol. Just gotta pay attention to detail especially with the color scheme and part quality any computer can look amazing.

XxD34THxX 1 point 22 months ago

What mods did you do the car...

MrMoose88 submitter 5 Builds 1 point 22 months ago

Motegi wheels MR116 17"x7.5, seibon carbon fiber front grille, new dash kit and pioneer double din stereo, CAI, 2.5" catback straight piped exhaust, drilled slotted brake rotors, new headlights(old ones were foggy), lowering springs, and new fog lights.

XxD34THxX 1 point 22 months ago

No bigger/second small turbo?

MrMoose88 submitter 5 Builds 1 point 22 months ago

I have the 3.0L V6 model, no turbocharger. The engine is stock internally so I cant just slap a turbo onto it

XxD34THxX 1 point 22 months ago

Ah Well good build

tiny_voices 2 Builds 1 point 22 months ago

Nor would you want to. Boosted 3.0Ls just pop anyway. There is no real way to make that car fast without swapping it.

[comment deleted]
tiny_voices 2 Builds 0 points 22 months ago

What springs is it on? Stock struts?

Also what is a catback straight piped exhaust? Those mean 2 different things.

Why drilled /slotted brakes? You know they perform WORSE on the street than solid rotors right?

MrMoose88 submitter 5 Builds 1 point 22 months ago

tien springs, the catback exhuast was custom done at mrmuffler, I had the mechanics not put a resonator or mufflers on the exhaust. Its straight pipes past the cat. I didnt know that when I bought them over a year ago, but they work just fine for me.

tiny_voices 2 Builds 1 point 22 months ago

IS it an auto or manual?

The springs are on the stock struts? That's not a good idea at all. They will blow soon or might already be blown. Lowering springs are AWFUL for stock struts.

MrMoose88 submitter 5 Builds 1 point 22 months ago

I know that the springs are tiens, but I actually didnt put them on my car, the previous owner did, and yes the struts are stock. Im planning on selling this car within a year or so though, so im not planning on putting alot more money into it

MrMoose88 submitter 5 Builds 1 point 22 months ago

its an automatic

Tennis987 1 point 22 months ago

How is Michigan? I'm thinking of going to school there and I want to know how the weather is and if there is anything fun to do there?

P.S Im not a stalker, I saw the state on the license plate.

MrMoose88 submitter 5 Builds 1 point 22 months ago

haha, I noticed the Michigan was in the upper part of that pic, its really nice hear, we get all four season. Really hot in the summer, freezing in the winter, but fall and spring are gorgeous. Lots of inner lakes besides the great lakes which is as good as beachfront property. In the summer there is alot to do, not so much in the winter. Also in the fall we have lots of apple orchards open. Only thing I dont like about Michigan is that our roads are awful compared to other states.

tombull89 6 Builds 1 point 22 months ago

Dr. Brackman would be proud.

I love the colour scheme. Cable management is excellent, and i think £2k is a fair price for a decent machine. If I had the money that's what I'd spend on a new build.

MrMoose88 submitter 5 Builds 1 point 22 months ago

haha ofcourse, gotta build to please our beloved father

dccorreia 1 Build 1 point 22 months ago

Photo 21, great machine! Overclocked? :-) Nice project

MrMoose88 submitter 5 Builds 1 point 22 months ago

not oc yet, but im going to do it soon, I just keep getting lazy lol, thank you anyways

EdInk 10 Builds 1 point 22 months ago

WHOA! That's REEEDDDDD!....nice build

BMXr538 1 Build 1 point 22 months ago

We know you want to do some custom watercooling. Don't you?

+1 looks sweeeeet!

MrMoose88 submitter 5 Builds 1 point 22 months ago

It will happen in the near future and is gonna look sick! thank you

Kylaralthor 4 Builds 1 point 22 months ago

Seems a little light on CPU power for a dual 980ti build. Also, why did you use a liquid cooler for a stock CPU? And why only a 1k PSU? Not that it's not a bad PSU but do you not plan to overclock your cards at all?

MrMoose88 submitter 5 Builds 1 point 22 months ago

If you noticed my build says "V2", if you checked my profile and looked at the parts of my "V1" build, that will explain why I have a cpu that isnt really on par with my gpus, also my system clocks in around 850w, so 1000w from a tier 1 psu is more than enough to overclock my cpu and gpus, since the 1000w p2 can work even if the system is exceeding 1000w. Plus I got the H105 becuase i wanted the red centerpiece on the water block. I built this system with looks in mind over value.

Kylaralthor 4 Builds 1 point 22 months ago

I meant to say if you want to replace the bios on the cards you'd need a larger PSU. If you're doing low end overclocks with software only then no you probably won't tap yours. So what's your plan on the CPU? 5820k or 5930k? Personally I like the 5930k but for DX11 games the 5820k is better.

MrMoose88 submitter 5 Builds 2 points 22 months ago

I am only doing low end clocks at the moment, but I do plan on upgrading my psu to the 1200wP2, as for the cpu, my mobo isnt compatible with any of those cpu's. Try starting a build using the x79 dark and see for yourself which cpu's are compatible, not a whole lot. The 4960x is the best cpu I can buy for this build without getting a whole new mobo all together.

Kylaralthor 4 Builds 1 point 22 months ago

I was implying a new motherboard. It's fine either way. 4960x will do quite a bit. When DX12 games become the norm it won't matter too awful much because you'll tap out on VRAM before you do on that CPU. It's a nice build either way. How high does that CPU overclock? I'm not overly familiar with it.

MrMoose88 submitter 5 Builds 1 point 22 months ago

Besides the fact that I really like the x79 chipset, I also like the aesthetics of the mobo, so I probably wont get a new one. Besides that I have heard people OCing the 4820K to 4.6mhz, I am probably gonna push it to about 4.2mhz since that seems like a solid oc.

Shakaron 3 Builds 1 point 22 months ago

I see you love performance. This is a well built machine, sir. :)

If I may add a thing or two.

  1. Storage. I had lost data before, so I made a promise to myself: next time I'll buy and build a new computer, I'll have RAID to prevent data loss. You might have 2 Seagate Barracuda for that.

If you really enjoy performance, you might want to consider having a RAID 5 or RAID 6 instead of (what do you have? Raid 0?)

  1. Wireless network adapter. I've seen many people use that in their build. My brother has it. I just don't get the idea behind. Why not use simply the Ethernet cable. It's more reliable and faster. I guess, if you hate cables or have an average Internet connection (regarding average ping), it won't make your ping any higher really.

But I just feel like you'll never have 1 ms ping (well, it wasn't with the usual ISPs you can get :P) and your package lost will be a bit higher that with the cable. Most of this does not matter for common players. But you just said it: you are a perfectionist . :)

In overall, congrats again. :) I wish I could afford this build.

MrMoose88 submitter 5 Builds 1 point 22 months ago

Thank you, yeah I have been looking in to doing raid 5 or 6, about the Ethernet, that isnt going to happen, my computer is in my room on the second story of my parents house and all Ethernet ports for phone and internet lines are on the first floor or down the hallway in my parents bedroom lol.

V101dude 1 point 22 months ago

Looks great, love it! Congrats!

MrMoose88 submitter 5 Builds 1 point 22 months ago

thank you!

elvenson 4 Builds 1 point 22 months ago

gorgeous build.... but wtf is with the AS5 in there? this thing is screaming for a better paste lol

MrMoose88 submitter 5 Builds 2 points 22 months ago

oh, lol truth is I bought that stuff, but I just used the paste that came pre-spreaded on the h105 cooler block

elvenson 4 Builds 1 point 22 months ago

whew! lol

that corsair supplied stuff is pretty decent. not sure what it is, but its not much difference to the better aftermarket pastes these days.

that AS5 comes in handy for fixing old xbox 360s or slapping heatsinks on stuff that doesnt have a mounting bracket, like vrm modules on some boards or gpus that dont have them well taken care of

DrTot 1 Build 1 point 22 months ago

Great Parts, Great Setup, Great Looking PC, yet again It's a red and black build..jk.

I have never seen that mouse before, and it looks sick +1

MrMoose88 submitter 5 Builds 1 point 22 months ago

thank you, its an EVGA Torq X10

Darkseiders 1 point 22 months ago

But can it run minesweeper? :P Anyways, looks great! Congrats on featured too.

tiny_voices 2 Builds 1 point 22 months ago

OH GOD the Motegi wheels.

MrMoose88 submitter 5 Builds 1 point 22 months ago

dont like them? I was planning on swapping them for rotas

tiny_voices 2 Builds 1 point 22 months ago

Oh god rotas are worse. They are awful quality cast wheels. Google why not to buy Rotas. And no I do not like wheels with a red pinstripe. They look ricey in my opinion.

MrMoose88 submitter 5 Builds 1 point 22 months ago

I have googled why not buy rotas, but there is also a lot of information out there on why rotas are not bad wheels as most people think. I really like the looks of the p45r's. I like the red pinstripe, its just what i like, and I do not think my car looks ricey, I dont have any extra random **** added on so I think it looks pretty clean.

tiny_voices 2 Builds 1 point 22 months ago

I mean your grille looks straight ebay in my opinion and your wheels looks ricey in my opinion. This is just my opinion, remember. I prefer cleaner looking cars.

Rotas are unsafe if you do any hard driving at all. For a daily driver that is never pushed they are OK. I have alot of friends with destroyed rotas.

MrMoose88 submitter 5 Builds 1 point 22 months ago

well yeah, I dont think I will be taking my car to a track anytime soon, not that we have any nearby where I live

MrMoose88 submitter 5 Builds 1 point 22 months ago

The grille is real carbon fiber, not wrapped, bought if off the seibon website. Also I respect your opinion, I know there are much nicer looking Mazdas out there versus mine, but I still am happy with how mine looks.

Silverstrix 3 Builds 1 point 22 months ago

Hows that speaker system? I can get it for around $40 but I'm wondering if its a good little set. Anywho, +1 on the sexyy build!

MrMoose88 submitter 5 Builds 1 point 22 months ago

Its not a speaker system, its the actual stereo, and mine was $150 since it was new at the time, and its the double din version instead of single. It is pretty awesome and lets you bass boost your stock speakers.

ziggurat666 6 Builds 1 point 22 months ago

Beautiful Build, deserves featured spot simply for the cleanliness, classy theme and excellent mating of parts. Only, And I mean ONLY thing other than the Custom LC, is some cable combs. makes that nice tight line with the Cables to the GPU instead of that slight disarray of the sleeved cables. Hope that was constructive :) +1

MrMoose88 submitter 5 Builds 1 point 22 months ago

exactly what I am planning to do, my ocd kicks in a little bit when I see how "not perfect" the sleeved cables are flowing, so im going to order some cable combs to fix it, thank you for the input!

ACVoong 2 Builds 1 point 22 months ago

Beautiful build. Congrats on getting featured. +1

MrMoose88 submitter 5 Builds 1 point 22 months ago

Ian_H. 1 point 22 months ago

What do you do for a living that allows you to afford to buy such a crazy build? I may want to consider that occupation xD

Overall, excellent build +1

philphaser 11 Builds 2 points 22 months ago

tandemrecruit 1 point 22 months ago

How long did you have to save to afford this monster build?

MrMoose88 submitter 5 Builds 1 point 22 months ago

The initial build took me about 4 months to save up, it was around $2700, I have been slowly upgrading it over the course of the summer, so 6-7 months I guess?

APEBuilt 3 Builds 1 point 22 months ago

Glad to see you turned around the bottom fans from exhaust to intake :p

Nice build representing the original X79 platform (I use it as well) Thumbs up!

MrMoose88 submitter 5 Builds 1 point 22 months ago

yeah I changed that after reading about that those fans are supposed to be intake, i love the x79 platform and evga's x79 dark is great and has the perfect color scheme for the build

NoobBuilder01 2 Builds 1 point 22 months ago

Very cool! +1 for the budget too. Thanks for sharing :)

MrMoose88 submitter 5 Builds 1 point 22 months ago

lol the budget that doesnt exist XD! thank you

Do u even 4K br0? I guess yes. Your PC is awesome BTW i want it so badly m9. i r8 your PC 8/8 with some h8 because its not mine.

MrMoose88 submitter 5 Builds 1 point 22 months ago

haha dont worry m8, but the pc is gr8 b8 since its like eye candy for me lol

MiguelXx3D 1 point 22 months ago

Al so for me m9. I want your PC NOW. also i just read that you don´t even 1440p. GET DAT ROG SWIFT PLZ M9 And dat car m9 is awesome, i just don´t like dat grille (It´s awfull) I would like to do some crazy mod on a WRX like a V6 or H6 with 4 turbos or some crazy **** like that.

Alpharite 1 point 22 months ago

This Rig is a beast, but seems under-utilized (that's an understatement) on a 1080p monitor.

That aside, your aesthetics are incredible. Kudos.

MrMoose88 submitter 5 Builds 1 point 22 months ago

thank you, ofcourse it is underutilized, that is why im going to get a 4k monitor for it.

Alpharite 1 point 22 months ago

Have fun

MattyC51237 1 Build 1 point 22 months ago

I love this build. I like that you made hardware choices not just on performance but for who it looks and keeping with the color combination that you enjoy. You did a fantastic job with the cabling. It is getting me pumped to get my new big rig build with Cyber Monday sales next month. Nicely done. Can't wait to see it when you get the custom liquid cooling loop installed.

MrMoose88 submitter 5 Builds 2 points 22 months ago

Thank you, I appreciate it because that is exactly what I had in mind, I wanted to make something with power and that i could stare at it for hours on end lol. The liquid cooling might happen in a few months but that is because when it does I will take extra time to make it look as beautiful as possible. Good luck with your build! I will have my +1 waiting for it (=

MattyC51237 1 Build 1 point 21 months ago

You're welcome. Great minds think alike. LOL That is exactly how I see my next big/monster build coming up in just a couple weeks. I've never tried liquid cooling before so I might have to reach out for tips or suggestions when i make the switch to liquid cooling. Thanks. I'll be sure to post lots of pictures as I get that build setup and running. I appreciate it. Thanks a bunch man.

Sonic12310PlaysMC 1 point 22 months ago

Nice job with the PC I think it is a beast computer. But for $3000, that is a lot of money wasted on a huge and beast computer. Also, why not put Windows 8 or 10? To just sum it up I think it is a good looking computer.

MrMoose88 submitter 5 Builds 2 points 22 months ago

well, for starters I respect your opinion but I do not regret spending $4000 on this pc (what I actually spent on it). Every dollar put into this was well worth it and as you can see, all the work payed off. Plus i have a well paying job so money isnt an issue for me. I wanted a pc with lots of performance but also one that looked the part as well. Also I prefer windows 7, I will possibly get 10, but no way 8.

Nicz 1 Build 1 point 22 months ago

Is this PC nice? Yes. Am I jealous? Hell yes.

MrMoose88 submitter 5 Builds 1 point 22 months ago

haha no worries, save up and make your own beautiful beast!

Russkie69 2 Builds 1 point 22 months ago

I salute you on your incredible build, comrade. I believe you can never have enough red, I love how the led lighting goes everywhere to fill the darkness and custom sleeved cables are always a nice sight to see. For anyone saying overkill, they just aren't really into computers or enthusiastic about making the best they can. I always say if you ain't doing too much than you're doing too little. My favorite game growing up for PC was Red Alert, so that is the title I shall give your build.

MrMoose88 submitter 5 Builds 1 point 22 months ago

thank you, I feel the same way about it, and yes i am very enthusiastic about building pc's.

tandemrecruit 1 point 22 months ago

+1 for being a Michigander

lol no really, its an amazing build. This is what I envisioned I wanted mine to look like, but on about 1/3 the budget

MrMoose88 submitter 5 Builds 1 point 22 months ago

haha, thank you

All_Mighty_Cat_God 1 point 22 months ago

its good but can it run oregon trail in 60fps

MrMoose88 submitter 5 Builds 1 point 22 months ago

maybe, idk it sounds really demanding. I might have to get another 980ti

ThinkWithPortals 2 Builds 1 point 22 months ago

Truly beautiful. Really, I think this is one of my fave builds on this site. Props to you :) I'd +1 more times if I could.

MrMoose88 submitter 5 Builds 2 points 22 months ago

Brackman would approve. Ever consider a Cybran emblem decal? Beautiful piece of work.

MrMoose88 submitter 5 Builds 1 point 22 months ago

haha thank you, Yeah I might get a cybran emblem sticker for the front of my case

Lyrak 1 point 22 months ago

MrMoose88 submitter 5 Builds 1 point 22 months ago

MrMoose88 submitter 5 Builds 1 point 22 months ago

EVGA Torq X10 carbon edition

ap002 1 point 22 months ago

m52nickerson 1 Build 1 point 22 months ago

Proof that overkill is under rated.

MrMoose88 submitter 5 Builds 1 point 22 months ago

haha thank you

skiskate10 1 Build 1 point 22 months ago

Please tell me you are not using a dual 980TI system on a 1080p 60hz screen ಠ_ಠ

At this price range you should be using either a 4K monitor, or a 1440p 144hz screen!

MrMoose88 submitter 5 Builds 2 points 22 months ago

If you read the description I clearly stated I will be buying a 4K monitor in the near future to better utilize my cards....

skiskate10 1 Build 1 point 22 months ago

Well i'm stupid :P

I think I read about half of your description then decided to scroll down to see the monitor you were using before I finished reading it.

Great build though! (I would also recommend 1440p 144hz over 4K)

ItsSeanBroleson 1 Build 1 point 22 months ago

Wow, I'm really enticed by how clean it is; the LED placement, that sheen on the GPU's and man, the red cabling! I'm personally very interested in white cabling for my rig and I think this just let me know how much it could pay off. Definitely, feature build worthy. Good job, man.

MrMoose88 submitter 5 Builds 1 point 22 months ago

thank you, yeah the individually sleeved cables are well worth their price, makes cable management a whole lot easier

StalinWasCool 2 Builds 1 point 22 months ago

Sweet build, would recommend some DIY on the case; get some red paint of some sort that'll match well, paint a stripe or something on the case. Other than that, would recommend putting that beast on the ground, preferably on that piece of wood with the sub, and try going for Dual monitors :P. Those are just recommendations, but you do you mate!

MrMoose88 submitter 5 Builds 1 point 22 months ago

thank you, I probably wont paint the case since I like the clean look of the 750D by itself, also there isnt really any room to put the case on the ground in my room, and id rather not have it so close to carpet. But I do want to do dual monitors when I get more space.

ElectrifiedAssassin 1 point 22 months ago

Upgrade your memory to be honest, DDR3 isn't very quick.

MrMoose88 submitter 5 Builds 1 point 22 months ago

This chipset, mobo/cpu doesnt support ddr4

voaz 2 Builds 1 point 22 months ago

I would get cable combs for all of your cables so they look better. And I personally like the use of SSDs only and remove the drive cage for a cleaner look too. Also because you're a perfectionist you should get EVGA and Corsair? It's not really about the brand. EVGA has a few nice power supplies but the Seasonic ones are of better quality and same for the Corsair components but it's all a personal preference in the end.

I like your build

MrMoose88 submitter 5 Builds 1 point 22 months ago

yeah I will get some cable combs to tidy up the cables, since this case has ssd slots and hdd/ssd bays my thinking is, why not both? Also I prefer evga over other brands, and the psu im using is a tier 1 psu so its on par with seasonics best psu's.

voaz 2 Builds 1 point 22 months ago

It will do fine for sure! Great build by the way.

Fomrbyman 2 Builds 1 point 22 months ago

Not sure whether to congratulate you on your cable management (it's beautiful, btw) or suggest you seek immediate help for your OCD ;-)

dalethezombie 3 Builds 1 point 22 months ago

Macentosh 1 point 22 months ago

A couple of things jumped out at me:

You spent nearly $5k on a PC and only have a 256 GB SSD? and I'd have water-cooled the hell out of it.

Good job.

tandemrecruit 1 point 22 months ago

Im pretty sure he said he would try water-cooling V3

Macentosh 1 point 22 months ago

Yeah found that later

MrMoose88 submitter 5 Builds 1 point 22 months ago

1K off of what I spent but ok... either way I will be custom watercooling it soon

jayl89 1 point 22 months ago

I don't see EVGA as perfect haha. I bought 2 980 kingpins and both were defective.

Anyone 1 point 22 months ago

Am I the only one who feels as if black/red themed PCs are overdone to hell and back? Excellent job, regardless.

Yreval 1 point 22 months ago

Surely at this point you should color coordinate your headset too? :)

MrMoose88 submitter 5 Builds 1 point 22 months ago

yeah, that is something I bought before I built this pc haha

pucci 1 point 21 months ago

WHATS THAT DESK? I WANT IT.

MrMoose88 submitter 5 Builds 1 point 21 months ago

Just a standard black wooden desk I got from target for about $115, its a nice solid desk, I had to assemble it myself.

pucci 1 point 21 months ago

Do you know the name/link to it? what are the dimensions? would a H440 fit on it?

MrMoose88 submitter 5 Builds 1 point 21 months ago

I don't know the name, but it is 49" wide by 19.5" deep. I would say that yes an H440 would fit on it, but just barely. I had to get a longer piece of wood to put my 750D on, on top of the desk.

pucci 1 point 21 months ago

Thanks! and how is that wifi card working for ya?

MrMoose88 submitter 5 Builds 1 point 21 months ago

It is great, all my download and upload speeds are crazy fast, especially for how far away I am from the router in my house

se7en47 1 point 21 months ago

Hi MrMoose88. I'm thinking of building my first Custom Gaming PC in 2016 (with the help of my experienced friend). I've been all over this website and your build caught my eye both visually and in terms of specifications. Just a couple quick questions before I start slowly ordering the parts and emptying my wallet haha,

  1. Is there anything you would change about this build, or are you still 100% happy with it's performance today. Any regrets, things you wish you did differently?

  2. What are your thoughts on the 2 compatibility issues listed on your parts list?

Cheers,

MrMoose88 submitter 5 Builds 2 points 21 months ago

Well thank you, The only thing I would change on this build, is when I get some more funds I am looking into getting an I7 4960X to replace my 4820K, but either way I still think the 4820K performs outstanding and i have no complaints on it. Am I 100% happy with my build? Yes I am, its performance is great and I have no problems with, and I love the look of it, as some of the parts I chose were weighted a lot on their appearance and color scheme as well as the performance. My answers to the compatibility notes are that my bios did not need to be updated, so i had no problem with that . For the ram, unless i overclock my cpu to a higher mhz, I can put my ram up to their max specs of 2400mhz.

se7en47 2 points 21 months ago

Beautiful, really appreciate the quick reply. Over the next few months I plan to create your overkill build (with some personal changes) and will hopefully have it set up before May/June 2016. If you're still active here on ppp I'd love to show you the final product and perhaps post it here on the site giving you due credit of course.

Also, this may seem like a pretty newbie question (since I somewhat am), but what is the thermal compound for in the parts list? Yes, I know the reason behind thermal paste and it's importance - but doesn't the cpu cooler come with the thermal compound pre-applied?

MrMoose88 submitter 5 Builds 1 point 21 months ago

No problem, I check this site everyday so if someone messages me I usually reply right away. I think it is really cool that you will be doing that since I know from seeing many other builds, my build is pretty unique with the type of parts i used. My gpu's seem normal, but i have already swapped those out. I havent re-posted my build yet, but I actually have two evga 980ti Classifieds in the system. I will be reposting it when I make some more updates to it. Definitely message me when you post your build, I would love to see a slightly different version of what I created (=. Yes the thermal compound on my H105 was pre-applied, I thought i was going to need the AS, but I didnt, I will use it when I remove my AIOC and build the custom loop I am planning on making in a couple months.

se7en47 1 point 21 months ago

So I spent the majority of today hunting down parts and have had a really hard time coming across the EVGA x79 Dark. Has this mobo been discontinued? Honestly can't find it available anywhere..

MrMoose88 submitter 5 Builds 1 point 21 months ago

well, it is an older chipset from last year, I got it on amazon for around $350 in May this year. Unfortunately it looks like EVGA discontinued the x79 chipset when the Z170 was released. You can get your hands on one, but its not going to be cheap. I saw two new ones on amazon from seperate retailers for around $700, here is the link http://www.amazon.com/EVGA-150-SE-E789-K2-DARK-LGA2011-MAX-64GB/dp/B00KDC7MJM/ref=sr_1_6?ie=UTF8&qid=1447912433&sr=8-6&keywords=evga+x79+dark

pollozz 1 Build 1 point 20 months ago

Sick build man! I like the EVGA set up and compatibility, now I'm contemplating if going with the Windforces was a good idea. love it though!

MrMoose88 submitter 5 Builds 1 point 20 months ago

Thanks man, I got the evga 980ti's because I am an evga fanboy lol, im sure your windforces will be good, I just wouldn't get them for my setup since the blue lights wouldn't go with my color scheme.

polkhead 1 point 16 months ago

Nice build dude +1

MrMoose88 submitter 5 Builds 1 point 22 months ago

well, when I built this pc, 6th gen intel cpus didnt exist, also a 6700 doesnt work with an x79 chipset mobo since it isnt lga 2011 and wouldnt work with ddr3 ram.

[comment deleted]
MrMoose88 submitter 5 Builds 1 point 22 months ago

My mobo has an LGA 2011 socket, a 6th gen cpu will not fit in my mobo, neither will a 5th gen

vikingXcore 4 Builds 1 point 22 months ago

I got a 4820k running on air and it easily handles 4.3. You should over clock it to 4.7 if you can!

Thank you! haha, if looks could kill, my pc might make people faint, or at least after hearing its price lol. I love evga because of not only their great products but also their great customer service. The subtle design of their products is why I chose evga, the mobo was the perfect blend of black to red and their psu's reliability is top notch. If I had a second choice on mobo and gpu, I would take MSI next. I love my car to death and take great care of her, I appreciate the complements! (=
