Description

This is Athena. I built her during my senior year of my undergrad degree as an early graduation gift to myself. I use her now for statistical programming, gaming, web browsing, and to SSH into my Raspberry Pi. She can handle all AAA games at max (or near max) settings at 1080p and breezes through anything else I do. While I do have three screens, running games in NVidia surround poses a bit of a problem for the single GTX 970. I generally have to lower settings to High or Medium to get 60fps consistently. I hope sharing my build helps someone else out!

Love white and gold builds! Are you going to try and paint your GTX 970 red to either white or gold? That'd basically complete the look. It's not too hard doing that, either.

I would love to try at some point! It definitely bothers me that it is red! I would also love to get a B/W MOBO as well but that may come later.

Clean cable management, and excellent color choices. Though it's entirely unecessary, especially given the great job you've done with your current set of cables, it might be worthwhile to look into some sleeved kits. A bright red would perfectly accentuate your GPU and the LED on your Mobo.

Otherwise, happy hacking and gaming!

Thanks for the suggestions! I've been toying with the idea of sleeving my own cables. I currently live in a small apartment with no space for any tools or whatnot but once I move this summer I'm definitely going to start gearing up for it!

Cheers!

My desk is a little messy at the moment but I will add another photo once I clean everything up a bit (especially the cable management!). Thanks for the compliment!
