Description

Built this pc over a xbox one or ps4. Never looked back.

Part Reviews

CPU

Great CPU. Enough cores to last me into the future. Doesn't bottleneck anything else in my system.

CPU Cooler

Wish I didn't cut costs here. Great product for the price, I just want something more quiet and capable. Looking to upgrade in the future

Motherboard

Good mobo for the price. One star off because of it's lack of onboard wifi and it's integrated sound dying on me. These forced me to get seperate cards for each of these which took up pci lanes and restricted airflow to my gpu.

Memory

Great ram. Enough capacity and 1600mhz is plenty fast. Plus the heatspreaders look awesome!

Storage

Excellent as a boot drive with all my primary programs. Boot times are usually under 20 sec which is fantastic!

Storage

Cheap and silent mass storage. I use it for all my pictures, videos, etc. as well as storing any games I'm not currently playing. Fantastic in tandem with my ssd to get the best of both worlds.

Video Card

Very quiet at idle but can be noisy at load. Regardless it is powerful enough to play modern games at very high or ultra at 1080p which is all I wanted.

Case

Simply amazing. Build quality is superior to my old case (bitfenix shinobi window). Especially love the psu shroud and color scheme to match my other components. Airflow is restricted but that is to be expected in a silent case. Filter's are very easy to remove and clean.

Power Supply

Didn't last 2 years before it needed to be replaced. Also not 80+, noisy, non-modular, cables not entirely blacked out. Looking back I shouldn't have cut corners here.

Sound Card

Not usually a believer in the need for sound cards but I had to buy one when my mobo's built in sound broke. Does the job but it restricts airflow to my gpu.

Wireless Network Adapter

Stay away. Major driver issues with this in windows 8.1

Monitor

Great monitor and I got it at an amazing price. Enough said.

Keyboard

Cheapo keyboard to start out with. Does the job well enough at it's price but I will be looking to go mechanical in the future. Also the backspace key is rather small.

Mouse

Took a risk on an unknown brand but it turned out pretty well. Love having the macro button's for media control ever though the software isn't the best. Adjustable weight is also a plus although I can't say I've really fine tuned my weight very much. The mouse feels very odd at first (esp. the side grips) but you get used to it quickly. However, I still am looking to upgrade in the future.

Headphones

Bought these because turtle beach was the only gaming headset brand I'd heard of coming from an xbox 360. Also because they matched the rest of my color scheme. All I can say is that I regret it. The sound quality isn't very good and my ears get hot and irritated when worn. Wish I had gotten good headphones instead. Looking to upgrade in the future.

Speakers

Got them for free from my dad so I can't complain too much. The sound quality is reasonably good relative to their normal price. However, I will be looking to upgrade to something more capable in the future.

I'm thinking about building a PC but i don't know which one is a great build and which one is a mediocre build. Can you tell me what kinda games you can play on this PC?

This will play most of today's games on High-Ultra (mostly ultra) at 60fps+ I know this because I have a similar rig. Hope this helped :)

Not too many motherboards have wifi adapters built right into them. You can't hold that against the manufacturer. After all, you chose the parts.
