I helped a friend put together a PC based off the Build Guide's "Great AMD Gaming/Streaming Build" from late September 2019. It's mostly identical to the state of the build guide from that time, with whatever the parametric filters suggested for us.

This was the first PC we've both ever put together, and it went off without a hitch! Zero build issues regarding correct connections, BIOS/UEFI setup, Windows install, etc. Though as an electrical engineer, I feel like my general skill set was pretty helpful in this regard :P

My friend is using this rig pretty much exclusively for gaming, and so far it crushes everything he has thrown at it, especially in 1080p. Since the prices might be a bit out of date, the grand total was a little over $2,000 Canadian dollars. The Canadian meme tier currency exchange rate vs. USD causes some components to cost considerably more vs. the US equivalent. Note that he didn't have any peripherals or a copy of Windows before starting, so those have also pushed the cost up by a fair amount.

Some of my personal feedback about the build and known issues:

• The Ryzen 5 3600 has one of the best price/performance ratios on the market right now.
• The motherboard is expensive and overkill (did not use parametric filter). A lot of people advocate for cheap motherboards but I believe that having one that is good quality in your build is essential because of how vital it is.
• As of this writing, the Great AMD Gaming/Streaming Build Guide has swapped the 2060 Super for the 5700 XT. Let the nVidia vs. AMD debate begin, is all I have to say to that. "But the 5700 XT performs closer to the 2070 and is cheaper!" Oh well. We picked what was recommended at the time. The 2060 Super uses less power, for what it's worth.
• There are better cases at the same approximate price point as the Corsair Carbide 275R. Some pieces of the case definitely felt more cheaply made. We likely should have sprung for a slightly better one, but at least it looks nice and fits everything in nicely.
• The monitor bottlenecks the capabilities of the PC somewhat, since from my understanding the 2060 Super can also be used for a considerable amount of gaming in 1440p, so we cheaped out a bit here.
