I recently retired a case and I had several parts available, so time for another build :) The only thing I had to purchase to make it a complete PC was the case and power supply. I listed the original paid prices for the parts just for informational purposes (i7 was bought used off eBay a few months ago, hence the price).
Everything went together well for the build and booted up first try. The only issue I ran into was the DVD drive cover on the front of the case isn't a pass-thru, you actually have to unclip it and dispose of it. I decided to use a razor and cut off the clips then use some cardboard and double-sided tape to attach it to the front of the drive tray for a much more satisfying look. Also, the fan for the Noctua NH-L9i was making some annoying noises so I just replaced it with a spare I had. I have had the cooler for a bout 2 years now but I expected more.
I ended up not having to use the drive cage that swings open so I just removed it for a cleaner look. Overall, for the price I really enjoyed the case and think it was well worth the $22 and has a lot of potential if you can be a little clever. Cable management is also well done for this price point. I hope to see more people use this case!
PS) Going to upgrade to the 1070 when it comes out :)
Couldn't pass up the deal, should last awhile as well as I'm fine with DDR3.
Bought this awhile back and has served me well and performs better than the stock cooler.
This motherboard as went through many builds for me and has been a real trooper. I used to run a G3258 oc'd to 4.5ghz on this board. It's also very tiny, only about an inch longer than a mini itx.
I love Mushkin, the brand has been very dependable.
This drive has also been through several builds. The price-performance is so good and I really like the Samsung magician software.
This came out of an external drive. Spinpoint drives are known for being reliable and quiet.
Bought this a couple months back for a budget build and now it's a placeholder for the 1070 :)
$22 with free shipping for a case of this quality and features was a no-brainer.
A cheap, yet reliable brand that I trust. Virtually silent!
Because it was cheap and Samsung.
Windows 10 has grown on me. With some tweaking and disabling of things, it suits me very well.
Moves a good amount of air and not too loud. Priced very well.
