Description

Built identical systems for my wife and myself.

Wanted to keep things cost effective, quiet, and as simple as possible - no overclocking and minimal wiring (using PPO5-E flat short wire kit).

Since there is no overclocking, went with a low profile CPU Cooler - the AXP-100 Muscle is a lower cost version of the AXP-100 (no mounting plate behind motherboard).

The monitors are Asus PA248Q's, keyboards are Corsair K70's, and the mice are Func MS3-2's.

The only thing that impresses me more than the build is that awesome desk setup! Very clean, organized, and unified. What kinds of chairs are those?

Also, nice pick on the MX100 - all of that line is awesome for the money and it's refreshing to see something other than an 840 EVO or 850 Pro as a completed build's choice of SSD.

Yes the Crucial SSDs were key to keeping below the $1250 pricepoint, especially since I knew we wanted SSD's larger than 256gb...

The chairs are Herman Miller Aeron Classic chairs...unlike the systems - those chairs were not cost effective... ;)

So clean, how's the case working out for you? I move around a lot (bring the computer as well) but I don't know if making a mITX is worth it, since it would be my first time build...

+1 I love your desk. Also, how are the monitors Such questions :D

The Node 304 is an excellent case. mITX is perfect for us - I don't foresee us adding anything except perhaps additional storage, and the Node 304 can accomodate up to 6 drives (4 if you have a full length graphics card).

If you don't require multiple PCIe slots, then an mITX solution should work out great!

Awesome build, great balance between price and performance. Very smart build all around.

Just curious any particular reason for having one monitor landscape and one portrait?

Thanks! No particular reason on the monitors, just trying it out that way for a bit...

Nice build! I can't help but be reminded of microwaves and mini-fridges whenever I see that case. Your desk setup also looks very clean and professional.

Only problem: You and your wife are realy far away from eachother. Sad little love story, still a better love story then twilight.

It's fine, that case sucks but other than that just order it and build the damn thing!

http://pcpartpicker.com/part/nzxt-case-caso22001 instead or the older 35 dollar version is better than that one
