My brother has an old Mac & various consoles. I told him I could put together an inexpensive PC which would compete with his consoles & he'd be able to upgrade with a new GPU if he wanted to.
The only game I have loaded is CSGO & even though its no real test it runs it at 200 FPS.
I'm pretty sure he'll only use this PC for gaming & web browsing.
Had this CPU since purchasing new in the middle of 2013. A reliable reasonable performer.
Only had this for a few months on another PC which I upgraded to a K skew CPU & upgraded its cooler at the same time. This keeps the 3470 under 30 degrees at idle and between 40-50 degrees under load.
Bare bones motherboard from 2013.
Pinched this from a 32 Gb kit in another PC.
Have used this as boot drive in another of my builds. Is fast enough.
Salvaged from an office PC being junked.
Purchased as a pair on eBay. Note that one of them is a HD 6950. I was concerned the blower style would be noisy and bought replacement heat sinks and fans but haven't used them. The noise isn't too bad. If you overlook the terrible decals and power munching nature of these cards the most you can say is they do the job.
Bare bones case. Easy enough to work in. Only just enough room for cable management. End visual result is good for the money.
Have used these before. Very quiet and push a lot of air. Splurged in this rig to add some colour and lighting.
Inexpensive does the job PSU.
