This build is intended for the person who wants the most powerful editing and gaming workstation imaginable, without spending recklessly. As well as being quiet, it is also powerful. All parts have been purchased from reputable sources including NCIXUS, Amazon, B&H Video/Audio, and Micro Center.

*UPDATE - 3/22/15 - Keyboard has arrived and is in great working order, processor has been purchased by the lovely folks over at Micro Center. All other products will be arriving as the week progresses... Hopefully! Build (along with pictures) should be completed by 3/29/15.

*UPDATE - 3/24/15 - Noctua NH-D15, Asus VG248QE and Asus X99-Deluxe Motherboard have arrived in what looks to be fantastic condition by both B&H Audio/Video and Newegg.

*UPDATE - 3/25/15 - The awesome looking Phanteks Enthoo Pro arrived in great condition, and looks absolutely beautiful.

*UPDATE - 3/28/15 -I have put together most of the parts I received in the case and pre-wired it for the arrival of my SSD and GPU. Apparently, the billing order didn't go through to NCIX, so none of the items had shipped, and we didn't get charged. Having said this, we decided to take our business entirely to Newegg who delivered a more than satisfactory shipping experience. Along with not having a dedicated video-out on the motherboard, and not having a GPU, I have no idea if the system will post. I guess i'll just have to wait and see! (It would suck if I had to rewire the whole system :/ )

*UPDATE - 4/9/15 -It's finally finished. Everything is running and it's glorious. I very much believe that investing in the X99 platform will serve me well and last me for a very long time.

Part Reviews

CPU overclocks like a bat out of hell... I am very pleased with its multi-threaded workload capacity and I see little reason to upgrade to the 5930K or 5960X in the near future. Handles gaming and web browsing across my monitor and a TV without going over 50% load (the game in question is ArmA 3) and is butter smooth throughout it all. Handled a six hour benchmark very well.

CPU Cooler

Keeps thing under control at all times, without being loud. Without the case fans running, its nearly inaudible with the panels OPEN.... wow.

Very intuitive UEFI bios as well as being simply astonishing in terms of looks, but I have had trouble when booting. Whenever i boot from completely shutting down the computer, a prompt with "Overclocking failed!" comes up and i have to bot from the bios. If anyone has any helpful suggestions, they will be greatly appreciated.

Incredibly quick, and has enough capacity for all my browsers, drivers, etc.

Video Card

This GPU, along with being damn near silent, can run everything maxed out... without breaking a sweat. Many times have I been impressed simply by running a game and seeing the FPS-Counter hit the three hundred mark. Given these titles may not be Triple A, but, it still amazes me.

Plenty of room with all the gadgets and gizmos needed to build two of my computers. Great build quality for price.

Power Supply

Very nice. I'm not exactly sure how it handles under load... seeing as the architecture for the CPU and GPU are very efficient for their caliber.

One of the better looking TN panels I've encountered. a great buy for the price and a good size for lookin'.

Great functionality with the controllable keys to the left, and great feel with the Cherry RED switches. Stylish, too.

Incredibly comfortable and no perceivable acceleration.

Stupidly comfortable and good enough 'gaming' audio drivers so that your ears don't bleed when listening to music and YouTube.

Hey mate, just wondering whether there was enough clearance to put the 980 on the first PCIe slot with D15? I'm looking at a similar motherboard but unsure of the clearance.

Your harddrives haven't exploded yet? In essence i should buy one? Lookin for a cheap, yet reliable 2tb model.

Sorry for the late reply, but no they have not exploded! In fact, they happen to be fairly quiet and has handled large mp4 rewrites from Premier well.

Why would you call a build "The Titan" without featuring a Titan GPU?

Hi! How is the Noctua bro, does it fits perfect in that case? Is it heavy? I think I am getting one for my 7600K. Amazing silent build you have there bro!

Thanks, and it's a little large but once its in it fits great, incredibly quiet, and a little heavy but it holds up just fine! My CPU runs super cool, too.
