I actually built this during black friday, but I've just been holding off on posting this for a while. My friend helped me with hooking me up with his dank camera too. I built this computer mainly just for the sake of building one and for gaming. I do care about the aesthetics of my computer, so that affected some of the parts I picked too. I do plan on buying sleeved cables and different fans to make a white color scheme inside later on. The build was pretty straight forward, and the end result turned out pretty good with some green LEDs to make a black/green theme going on. I actually spent around $1230 with all my deals.
Edit: The desk isn't finished, so that's a tri-fold poster keeping the PC from suckin in tiny wood chips.
This processor overclocks like a champ. I also got this thing when it was 230 in microcenter too, so I got the value.
Pretty good water cooler, it does make some weird noises when the fan speeds are too low though. Though it doesn't make those noises anymore because I cranked up the overclock some more.
Kinda came in scratched up on the chipset, but it didn't really get to me. I like how the shroud looks and I plan to over up the red accent on the board somehow. I'm not that experience with overclocking so I don't know what to say about it's performance on the processor.
Fast RAM for it's price and it looks pretty good with that stealthy heat spreader.
This is well renowned SSD so I thought I'd just go with it. It boots up windows in about 10 secs so I'm really liking it's performance.
Western Digital Caviar Blue 1TB 3.5" 7200RPM Internal Hard Drive Standard HDD. More space, more games.
Better version of the standard version of the MSI 970. I like how it looks with it's backplate too. I wanted to go with a little bit of green so that did influence the decision too.
When I saw this case, I couldn't get it out of my head. It was all like, "Take me." My mind was telling me to "save money" but then I couldn't resist it... It had to be love.
This power supply was on sale for $50 and it was EVGA. I couldn't stop myself.
