Description

Finally posting this roughly 4 months after I built this. Took me 3-4 hours to build.

Majority of parts were purchased at a discount during the holiday season.

"Tech Deals" "Bitwit" and "Paul's Hardware" served as awesome guides during my part research, build, and system setup process.

This system is primarily used for gaming, schoolwork, and lollygagging.

The Wraith Spire included with the CPU is an adequate cooler for a mild overclock.

The RAM is overclocked to 2933MHz.

I think the P400S is an excellent case for first time builders. The included led strip is really nice.

Unfortunately, the video card runs extremely loud and hot. (May try to liquid cool it at some point) I use MSI Afterburner to make the fan noise tolerable. Luckily, my headset blocks out most of the noise.

Things I would have done differently is definitely do more research on video cards (Blower vs. Open-air) Also, I think I could have gone with a 1070, but ahh well.

Overall, I'm satisfied with this build. It performs well and suits my needs :)

A very nice first build! I would recommend a gpu with an aftermarket cooler next time. But if you plan to water cool it, it should be fine :) Btw, how were the drivers for the B350 Gaming Pro Carbon?

Thanks! I will definitely go with an aftermarket card next time. As for the drivers, I had no issues installing them.

Thank you for the information, just looking into some MSI boards for a friend. Enjoy your new PC! :)

Beautiful one! I have a very similar set up with r5 1600, same board and an aftermarket rx580. May I suggest to undervolt your GPU? I recently watched a very handy guide and decided to do it, which boosted up my performance while lowering the voltages. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nWDgrAQ678g

Have fun with your build!

Thank you! I have actually considered undervolting, but I have not done it. I will surely try it as soon as I feel safe messing with my card, and also learn more about undervolting. Benefits include lower power consumption, and possibly lower temps, correct?

I was thinking about getting that same monitor for my first build. How has it been holding up, have you had any issues with it?

Hello, the monitor has been great thus far. I have had zero issues with it.

Great Build! I’m actually going to use this same exact Gpu in my future build! :)

Hey there, it's been 8 months since you posted this build and would like to know have you gone ahead and undervolted the card? If you did then how's the temps of it.

Can you share some temps and average fps? I heard that card can run hot and not preform as well and i am scared as i already bought it.
